I totally respect Dax's bravery to go public with this relapse, I loved the eps of Armchair where he addressed it. What I loved more... Jimmy didn't raise it in this interview. I'm a fan of Dax and wish I could get the USA version of Top Gear in the UK as I'm also a fan of Top Gear.

My dad bought a big used bus he had in front of his house for fifteen years he never drove anywhere. It was kind of a clubhouse ultimately. Eventually, he gave away cause no one would buy it. 😅

Yeah, I'm jealous of that RV, but also glad I don't have to maintain something like that lol. Sounds like even with money, Dax is facing some hardships with owning it. Still wish him the best with it, and take some damn trips dude! You got the rig, you got the money, make some time and start reserving some spots at RV parks around the nation! I would use that thing to death if I were in his position!

7 1/2 mi to the gallon isn't as bad as it seems... My 2003 Honda pilot that just died only got 15 mi to the gallon in town and 17 on the highway

How does one differentiate a bus and a motorhome?

The chassis. It’s a bus if it has the entry door on the front passenger side. Most buses are on a Freightliner chassis.

@@dzd2371 not all buses have the “tag axle” or third axle. Yes buses are diesels and do have air and engine brakes. The air ride suspension makes for a smoother ride as well. “Diesel pushers” or buses are the way to go if you can afford it. They also hold their values better.

Dax will regret how big his RV is. The size makes it challenging to gas up, limits which roads he can travel, and is difficult to park. Smaller and simpler will make vacations easier and less stressful on the family, unless he just wants to keep it parked somewhere and hooked up to power and water. And RVs are complicated and need a lot of maintenance. After almost 50 years experience, I have down sized to a van and occasionally a tent and enjoy it so much more because we can travel anywhere in the National Parks and the backwoods areas where few rvs can go.

I don't understand the stupid system America has to get fuel/gas/petrol/whatever. Here in Australia, you drive to the pump, fill up your car, walk in to the shop and pay for whatever you use. Gas stations here have video surveillance to get everyone's licence plates so no one can drive off without paying. I used to work at a truck stop, I've personally called the cops on someone who drove off without paying so I know that is true. It's a much easier system for drivers.
