Alot of men feel this way but these days MOST women don't care! If we hit a hard spot or get laid off we are no longer wanted or needed we get thrown away and divorced and replaced by someone else! I really wish that women would stop thinking that if a man cries or shows emotions that means he's weak, less worthy or less of a man. We're humans too. It is just just us feeling that way it is a fact. It is a fact we start learn8ng at a very young age and that keeps being taught to us our whole life. If we cry we are told to stop because someone else (wimen) have it worse. Or our girlfriends or wives will insult us and call us weak or a baby (if not at the time then in a future argument) or will us it as the reason they cheated and/or divorced us. Science has studied it and found that women have less respect for and attraction to guys that cry (or show any variability incleading physically), earn less then them and do too meny stereotypical "female" house chores. Hell even our hopes and dreams can and often are used against us. If they are seen as silly or not ambitious enough or too low class or too outside the stereotypes that women and society as a whole have for men. And women are the most vicious about it.
Born in the 70"s but the 80"s was where I started learning life and was always told suck it up and go wash your face and don't do it again you gotta toughing up. So the only times I broke down was at my son's funeral and then my mom and sister's. So when I first heard this one i was alone and still felt like I couldn't break down when I'm at the cemetery seeing my mom and son is the only place I can and not be judged. I’m a father of 3 boys I tell them not to cry and be strong. Because life is hard and as a father my goal is to make sure when I’m gone my sons are strong enough to take whatever life throws at them. You have to have the mental fortitude to push through the hard times.

Why we hide our emotions is more simple than it seems, I will never let my wife see me overwhelmed, because i want her to be comfertable, I will tke all the stress, fight all the fights, she will never know, so she can be comfertable in life. men have been told, and are still told through society, that we can not show emotions. then society/people gets weird when we do. it's easy for people to just say "you should show your emotions!" but yeah, that is not as easy as it sounds anymore. we are providers, and we love to provide. men want to make sure their family is safe, and secure. but listen to men, when they say they feel down. it's not a joke.
I feel like that every single day of my life and I was raised up to not show my emotions ever and I just got used to it so and I go to work everyday forcing myself to go passed my limits day by day just to work and provide for my brother and sister and my mother and I hide all of my emotions so no one sees anything that I go through
For mist men talking about it dies very little to help (it is a temporary release valve). If we can't find a solution for it then eventually the talking becomes just another frustration.

Everyone, not just women, not just parents, but everyone needs to stop respecting a man less, depending on a man less, or finding a man less attractive when he expresses his emotions or cries or breaks down. So often a boy or man will hear that it's ok to cry or feel sad or depend on someone else for a while, but when they follow that advice, they immediately pay the price. They are still called weak, either by many people or by that one person who's opinion matters most, or they notice people dont seem to allow them to help out as much. Worst thing is that so many men are emotionally scarred from some time when they exposed their weakness/sadness/tears to their wife or girlfriend and then had it thrown back in their faces, either by completely losing iterest in them as a partner or taking that fear, weakness, or insecurity and using it against them later in the relationship. Some people might be like #notallwomen but every man either has a story of this happening to themselves or a story about this happening to a man close to them, and it needs to stop. We all need to speak out, especially women, whenever we hear about this abuse of men and their feelings, just like we need to speak out against domestic violence against all partners, and sexual harassment, and gaslighting, and catcalling, etc.

to answer your question if that is how we feel? I can speak for myself but yes that is exactly how I feel. Marriage is not for men, at least it does not feel like that especially when the system is against us. We go out work and slave for a check to provide for our family or loved ones no matter what and sometimes depending on the woman its hard to keep the family intact when we barely make a good amount of money or we not fulfilling our woman's needs due to us being absent from home or something else. Also growing up a lot of us men were told we cant complain or cry and to suck it up so a lot of older men have this internal issue. Not what you think he’s saying, not the dissected fucked up thing you swear he means - what he actually said and did. Wanted: Act like you like having him around? Talk about the things you like and appreciate about who he is? Make the approach and give him a very clear high sign that if he’s interested too, let you know? Men go to fight and die and even if they lose the women move and adjust to another man that will hopefully do better. It isnt a bad thing, it is the human thing. The mental strain is because nobody seems to care. If a man has issues many times they are laughed at and mocked, not by men, but by women. He is broke, look at them threads, look at his ride and so on. They dont even know what his struggles may be, but they know they can mock him. Not in my life as my wife has been awesome all these many years but she didnt understand why this song meant so much to me Then I explained....did you grow up knowing that you would have to provide not only for yourself your entire life but for a woman and family if you chose to go that route or be homeless, a failure? There is no man back up plan, there is no marry a guy with a job and live of him, there is no baby and the government will house you. There is just you, the man, and if you fail there is no one going oh poor you, in fact it is the opposite, it is what did you do wrong. But what is the other option? If men do not, who will? Who will be those road workers, those linemen keeping the lights on, the one fighting wars, the firemen, police, sewage workers truckers, mechanics oil rig workers, farmers and so on and on. I hope you see this. It is okay to cry and be emotional as a man. However, men don't cry because, if we're crying, how can we stop our womens or childrens tears from falling? Who's going to be responsible for keeping our woman and children safe and happy? We can't support you or protect you in those moments if we get lost in them ourselves. That's why men don't cry or get emotional. We push our emotions deep inside and lock them away. So we can take your emotions and your tears. Onto our shoulders and support you, until we can piece you back together and fix you. Then once you're happy again, something as small and simple as a smile on your face. To us that's what makes everything we hold inside all worth it. You being happy and smiling, is the reason men can trudge through the weight we hold inside. You give us peace and keep us grounded by doing that, so that we don't get lost inside what we hold silently. Give your man a small and simple jester of kindness. Bring him his favorite snack and a drink with a smile on your face. That probably seems like such a small inconsequential meaningless thing to you. Watch how he suddenly gets filled with appreciation for you. You know why he does that? No one cares about us, not even ourselves. No one thinks about us, not even ourselves. I attempted this multiple times and deleted it because I'm so used the the idea that women just won't care. But for those that do, if you really want to show you you care, walk over to him while he's sitting down, embrace his head and pull him to you and just tell him you love him, and that you appreciate him. I don't have a woman in my life. In todays society, I need to be 6ft5,have a 6 pack, abs, and have a 6 figure bank balance every year to even get a girlfriend,...for me, I fall at the first hurdle, I'm 5ft9 so the fact that I'm not 6ft+ makes me automatically invisible to women, so how am I supposed to open up to a woman that doesn't even know I exist? And even if I could, why would I? just to have that woman go running to her girl groups on social media and laughing at me behind my back for being vulnerable? This is why men confide in each other, JESUS CHRIST and GOD. women will see us as weak when we talk about our feelings, they will pretend to care, but as soon as there is an argument, they use our vulnerability as ammo against us, so we don't bother opening up to them. I will also point out that most women are like this, but don't get me wrong, there are good women out there, but they are just very rare and extremely hard to find.

I've broken down in tears a few times to my wife, and expressed my insecurities to her as well, and she respects me more now than before, and leans on me harder now than before, probably because she knows that I vent when she/we not in times of crisis, so that I can remain strongest when the harder times come along.

She has never used my insecurities against me in a fight, but I also know that not everyone has had the same experiences that I have. The whole #notallwomen was a dig at that. Just like not all men directly contribute to discrimination and violence against women, and all men do need to play a part in looking out for it and correcting it when we see it, not all women reject men for their emotions and use their insecurities against them in fights, but all women need to be made aware that this is happening and do their part to end it. Not all men sexually assault women, but enough men do it to multiple women that every women has experienced it or is close to someone who has. Not all women commit the relationship atrocities that you and Dax mention, but enough do that every man has either experienced it, or is close to someone who has. I'm sorry that so many of my brothers out there have had to deal with this B.S. and and I am not trying to discount your experience or pain, I just want to give you hope that there are actually women out there who will treat you with the basic human decency that we all deserve and not just see you as a means to an end.
