The Long Trail is a 272-mile hiking trail in Vermont, running from the Massachusetts border to Canada. Established in 1910, it follows the Green Mountains and is popular for both day hikes and long-distance backpacking. It is managed by the Green Mountain Club.
I hiked the first 100 miles earlier this year on my 2,198 mile trek of the Appalachian Trail. Now, I’m solo-backpacking the final 170. Let’s get it!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! My mornings have been so empty since you summited. I watched (and still watching) several thru hiker videos each year. It is a way for me to continue to hike even though I can't hike, and your videos were without doubt, the best of 2024. Bluntly, Sass, I missed you! Your videos each morning made me smile, made me laugh, brought tears to my eyes, made me wake up and set my mood for the day. They also made me realize how fortunate I was to have gotten to hike almost 10,000 miles in my lifetime. Thank you! If I had enough income to sponsor your hiking, I would do it just to have your videos every morning. You are a true inspiration. Good luck on the Long Trail. geek

@@JessHikesTrails Thanks! I might but probably won't. I have difficulties just walking, I haven't tried a pack yet. The wilderness canoeing kind of makes up for that though. It's like luxurious backpacking because you get to be in wilderness but since the weight isn't on my back, you can take things like chairs and better food. Compared to hiking, it can spoil you! Good luck on the LT.

Thank you for doing this. I am going to be doing the AT in the next couple of years and said when I finished I would then go to the northern terminus of the LT and go sobo. Everyone tells me I am crazy.

After I finished I could barely continue walking, not to speak of carrying a backpack. I'm thinking of doing the LT next year as well. Good luck with the AT and LT.

Yay!! I did the LT earlier this June. The northern 173 miles are amazing, especially the 1-2 days before and after Mansfield. Much less trafficked and lots of good views above treeline!! Have a blast!! Good luck, David aka "Bull"

I guess since you're already there you might as well finish it since you already did half (or nearly so) of it already. I guess we'll find out soon but are you starting at the beginning or are you continuing on from where the AT splits off? That last part is supposed to be difficult, but hell you've done a whole bunch of difficult already. It will also be interesting to see if you're doing it alone or with other people. Hmmmmmm, instagram seems to show you've already finished? Since you've been done with AT for several weeks I guess you could be. Congratulations can't wait to watch

As followup Sass, congrats on the new job. I bet you'll knock 'em dead as you are a STAR! Was mildly surprised that you went all the way home, did all the things and then flew back and doing this. So excited for you. I read recently that some dude just did an FKT of the LT in 4 days! How crazy is that? Hope you enjoy your hike and you get all that you want from it. Looking forward to more. Oh and I think unless you decide to quit hiking you'll easy get that 10000 miles done.
