NH 68 was built back in the 1950's Plastic twine wasn't even heard of back then. No wonder she doesn't like it. Give that tractor some throttle and get that RPM up to 540 where it should be and get the knives sharpened. NH68 was an outstanding piece of equipment and can still get the job done. We had a 68 and later a 276. Funny thing about that 276. New Holland brand twine...worked perfectly. An aftermarket twine it skipped and cut knots all day long.
Baler seems to be working ok my 68 baler does not like plastic twine will bale about 20 then pushes a loose one out so have to use sisal twine and all is ok just like to point out that you need to have more revs on the tractor baler needs to run at 540 pto speed it will bale a lot better take care
Great outfit for doing your own work, I had a NH68 years ago but went round baler. The knives need to be aligned to cut the hay cleaner make an evener bale. Nice video
@@johnt7232 Thanks, our last nh68 was set up to perfection but dad decided after 4000 bales he'd give another one a crack. I've got another baling video coming out tomorrow midday, we ended up with a knotter issue a guide bar breaking off and we even adjusted the knives twice off camera 🤣 we set it up how it came in but dad decided to set the knives to line up how our old one did! Have a good evening 🙏
Don’t think your running the baler with enough pto speed..540 but some run them a bit faster..might help with the knotter issue if everything is running a bit quicker.
Hi, have a video that went live today explaining the knotter fix :) was literally simply turning a bolt a fraction and it creates more head on the twine when it knots.
