Thats about what I made for Uber Eats in San Diego for a 5-6 hour shift. Its ok money in a jam. I keep my account active just in case. The crazy thing is, I would make 200-300$ an hour Waiting tables for a 4-5 hour shift, at a nice restaurant, over 10 years ago. It would be great if Uber/lift, paid for your choice in health insurance,, and also, gas, oil changes and car insurance. That would make it worthwhile. During the height of the recession, I found that I was working to just pay the same bills. I didn't feel safe delivering packages to peoples dark homes, or have to triple park illegally to carry someones mc Donalds to the 28th floor, past 3 security features. I did the eats part of Uber, because I didn't want anyone in my car, that would throw up, or be drunk, and for other safety issues. But I did like the independence of it, and I loved working for myself.

Yea I did door dash during Covid since rides were slow which kinda sucked compared to driving Uber and Lyft. I definitely know the struggle of taking an order up to someone’s apartment on the 20th floor 😂 Prop 22 I believe offers a insurance health insurance stipend if you drive a certain amount of hours but I’ll have to make another video breaking that down. Rideshare definitely is a good back up plan Incase you lose your job or need to make extra money, but as far as a career definitely not the best in California. Seattle was worth it since it paid $35/ hr+

Have you ever done this but renting a car? Would prefer that to avoid frequent oil changes and putting miles on my personal car.
@dickjerm
@dickjerm 2 месяца назад
You can if there’s no conflicts with the rental company’s contract. I can’t see that being cost efficient in the long run though

Yea I started out by renting a Prius at first for the first few months to see if it was worth it. This was in 2016 through Uber. I was paying around $250 a week and got 2,500 miles per month and anything over that was .15 cents a mile. I was driving a lot so was it was expensive, but it worked out cuz back then I was making $30/ hr consistently and if fixed my credit since Uber took the payments out of my pay every week. They handled the maintenance on the car and Insurance. I ended up buying the car from them since it made more sense to own money wise. I’ll be making a video on the current rental programs from Lyft and Uber 👍🏼

@@InvestorMaverick yes!!! Please make a video on it 😮. Rental cost, how many rides before you break even for the day and start to make profit, pros and cons of rental vs your own vehicle, rent an uber car and use it for lyft rides as well, etc.

Yea I’ll see what I can put together 👍🏼

Uber and Lyft offer a program, cuz they have all the insurance worked out, but yet it wasn’t cost effective for me in the long run since I could have right a sports car for what I was paying but it’s a good way to try it out for a month or 2 if you don’t have a car

Facts. That’s how much I used to make in L.A. I’m regretting relocating to Seattle. Here in Seattle the way too many drivers and not enough customers. Often you sit idling for an hour without a rider! Seattle sucks don’t move here!
@InvestorMaverick
@InvestorMaverick 2 месяца назад
I was making $35-$40/ hr in Seattle when I was there, LA definitely sucks compared to there but this was 2 years ago 🤷🏻

Oh wow yea that’s a lot less than it used to be to be, definitely not worth it. Do you drive for Lyft too?

Society is better having ride services. You’re doing a good thing! God damn tho, let’s dive into it. Taxes, health insurance, car insurance then add the cost of that oil change, brakes, tires, HOT ass cali sun so blasting the AC kills MPG. I love a good hustle but are you making less than minimum wage?
@InvestorMaverick
@InvestorMaverick 2 месяца назад
Yea it’s pretty tough these days to make a living in California with the price of everything going up which is why I only do it part time, but for the sake of this video did 75 hours for the week to show people how much they could make in the Southern California market. Uber and Lyft do offer a health insurance stipend if you drive a certain amount of active hours but still don’t think it’s worth it really. Just good as a side hustle or a back up if you lose your job 👍🏼 I’ll figure out the Matience costs and make a video to showing the final numbers tho

Pretty much after gas and maintenance 😂 which is why I don’t recommend driving full time in Southern California, but it works out for me since the networking is good in LA for getting clients and collaborating for other creative projects I have 👍🏼

Yea it’s definitely not the most profitable side gig to do, I made $35-$40/ hr when I drove in Seattle which is crazy considering the cost of living is lower and they don’t have state income tax vs Cali being the highest in income tax and one of the highest cost of living. So yes definitely modern slavery era 😂 but this is why I’m doing this challenge so people know what to expect 👍🏼 did you drive for Uber or Lyft before?
@GamerBoiNugget
@GamerBoiNugget 2 месяца назад
You just have to be more selective with rides and the time you drive to make more than $30/ hr in LA. Plus if you drive a Toyota the expenses and gas are a lot lower. If you hit bonuses and drive weekends it can be worth it, plus flexibility to work when ever is nice 👌🏼
@GoTaxiNoUber
@GoTaxiNoUber 2 месяца назад
Next mathematical fact, this is from a Uber Driver I believe the comment read I was online for 12 hours. I made $150. I spent $40 on gas so I did the math it came out to $9.16 an hour but what about mechanical stuff oil changes tires where in tear on the vehicle and the biggest one appreciation on your car seven dollars an hour keep it up. Keep have a nice day.😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😊😅😊😅😅😅😅😅😅😊😅😅😊😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊
