the only issue is that if anybody can find that logo online you can't necessarily claim it as your own intellectual property If the image was directly created by an AI program

There seems to be a lot of confusion of how things work in this thread. The ® stands for a registered trademark, and is not the same as copyright. Copyright protects ideas and other abstract intellectual work. Trademarks protect logotypes, slogans and names. Registrating a trademark is a lengthy process that takes (at least) 3 months and involves several legal and governmental interactions. It should be noted for anyone out there that it is ILLEGAL to use these symbols in commercial context without proper ownership.
