I eagerly cracked open my calendar this morning, and did my own swabbing page. A fun start to the season indeed! Very glad to see you posting again.

Happy hollydays! I was waiting for this year's inkvent. Maybe next year i'll try it. I loved today's ink For purplish inks you should try Diamine imperial purple or Colorverse Chi town.

Yours is the first video I've seen of Fortunes Gold where we can clearly see the green in the shimmer (as opposed to the gold from lights above the paper)! The only other yellows/golds I have in ink are Three Kings (from last year's Inkvent) and Robert Oster African Gold. I definitely like this one much better! The other two lean more brown and I"m not a big fan of browns.

off topic but does anyone know why the Visconti HS Lava Color - Blu Oltremare is no longer on most pen websites? it doesn't even say out of stock it's just not there anymore. I was planning on buying this pen this week but now I can't find it anywhere

I just opened my Day 1. I seem to have a bunch of trouble getting shimmer inks to flow through my pens. What do you recommend in terms of pens or nibs for the granular inks like this? I was holding my breath when you were filling the pen, with that little bottle on the edge. I'm such a klutz, I never ink a pen anywhere but on a heavy duty Chinet paper plate. I only spilled once, but the plate caught it all and kept it from going all over my desk, and I even managed to pour what had spilled into a vial. I was worried to pour it back in the original bottle for concern it might have picked up fibers or something from the plate and contaminated the ink, but my pens didn't seem to care when I inked them from the vial instead of the bottle. I've been looking forward to starting to open this calendar. It's the first advent style calendar I've had since I was very small, and that it's ink instead of candy is wonderful because I can actually use the ink. I'm not supposed to have candy these days, as my pancreas has sued for separate maintenance! ;) I'm going to subscribe, as I love your presentation of this ink, and will watch the subsequent days of this lovely advent calendar!
