Why were you so cold? What kind of sleeping pad are you laying on? Your R-Value may be low, on your sleeping pad….when you get to camp, immediately pitch your tent, then change into dry “sleeping clothes”. Get damp clothes off. Put on dry socks. If you continue to sleep cold, buy a Nalgene bottle at Neel Gap. You can pour boiling water into Nalgene, then place in the bottom of sleeping bag, as you go to bed. This will warm your bag, and your feet….if you don’t own goose down booties, buy some. Build a fire at the shelter, if you feel like it! Below 32°, sleep with 1 bottle of water, all electronics, and water filter…and, PS, YOU’RE DOING GREAT!

Thanks for the positive thoughts and the suggestions. I think it was the lack of food and water during the day as well as all the excitement and stress of travel and starting. Another factor was the winds which kind of came through the tent most of the night.

Real good quality sleeping bags work best if you wear minimal "pajamas" so the bag will absorb your body heat and keep you toasty. Works for me anyway (have a 0° bag). Take care, good vibes your way! Crackerjack.
