Ppl if u commit to having a tattoo commit to protecting both ur skin and the artwork. DO NOT let it flake. When the skin scabs over or flakes like this you are allowing for the ink to come off with the scab/peeled skin. Yes there will be a peeling but it should NOT be this thick or dry. Keep it moist for MINIMUM of a week. Ideal is 2 weeks and then just use regular lotion or cream. Also….schedule ur tattoos for fall and winter where the clothing you wear tends to be longer sleeves and pants. The first 6 months of healing should be done away from the sun. Fresh in heats up hotter than non inked skin and the immunity recognizes the ink as foreign material therefore attacking it and ridding the body of it. This is why fresh ink that’s been exposed to the sun early on tends to be dull and old looking. Don’t let this happen to ur new tattoo.

If this is only after one day (which it is not) you aren’t doing proper aftercare. Wash 2-3 times a day with antimicrobial soap, apply a good lotion without petroleum or phosphates every 6 hours. This looks terrible. Tattoos after one day are still leaking plasma/ink and look red with possible swelling.

Please don’t do this, this suffocates the tattoo. You never wrap a tattoo with plastic wrap, and you especially don’t want to put aquifer under the wrap. Too much moister causes a breeding ground for bacteria, and plastic wrap gives that bacteria the best place to grow and infect a tattoo
My ain't peeling I was told when my first started to peel like that to put neosporin on it, and it stopped peeling and looks good tattoo artists I was told like telling you not to but take it from me and my friends I have a full upper shoulder arm tat and you wanna put a finger tip on a sm to med sm tat
My tats artist just said keep it dry on my 3 tattoos. Do not put anything and do not scratch it and keep it dry. Well now it's peeling and getting blurry. I hope the ink didn't fade or else I am gonna fukin scream toward the shop for a retouch!
It’s going to. Your artist is an idiot for telling you that. The saniderm is supposed to be on for 5 days and changed then left on for a another few days. After that I would have put on some of that AC or whatever lotion it’s in scented and meant for tattoos on. You definitely do not want your skin peeling. Was just like you with my first tattoo that was shitty anyways.. but my skin rejected the ink and now it looks like a stick and poke tattoo that was done by an 8 year old.
