Dear Feathers, "Don't worry about the miles, because you got the smiles! (from all you subscribers and viewers over the world)". All the best from Aotearoa/New Zealand!
So glad you where able to make it to see your daughter and then return back to the trail!!! Your last video was a tough one to watch/listen to with all the emotions pouring out but it just shows how much passion, care and love is inside you. BTW, I'm new to following you but I declare you have the BEST smile in the world and don't get me started on your giggles!!! LOVE THEM!!! 🤘😎
So happy that you're back on trail after spending time with your daughter. I came for your trail but stayed because of your personality and unique views of the trails themselves. Be you!
At the end of your video The Quiet still Lake do you ever take a bath in a lake wash your hair and your body when there's nobody around? It looks so inviting for a nice swim. Thank you for sharing your life with us all their best Shelley and Hugo
Those 'push-up' mushrooms are edible, if not so delicioso. I eat them here in Scotland, chopped up with 5-bladed herb scissors (seems to squeeze out the slightly hot flavour) onto crackers with butter or marg.
Glad to see you back on the Trail Kate! I know for me personally its always a big stress relief to be on the trail, you know being one with mother nature and breathing that clean mountain air! I am fortunate to live close to the Santa Cruz Mountains with there beautiful Redwood forest which are a much needed stress relief. Keep smiling ok Kate and stay strong you almost home.
That first lake was extra beautiful with it's reflection greens.....all to welcome.back an artist hiker that appreciates Mother Nature's artwork .❤ ✌ 👣 ☺ Glad to see you back on trail Feathers. 👍
What a surprise!!! Glad you're back so quickly. You are one of my two top hikers to watch, the other being IBTAT. I just like watching the daily rigors of trail life, seeing where you camp, etc. Hope the weather is nice to you!! The woods feel so different in the fall.
Hi again KATE! Happy to see you back on trail. Know you had a splendid time with your daughter! She looked soo surprised and happy to see you and what a great Mom to make the effort you did to make that happen! Wonderful memories that will serve you well on the rest of your journey. Must say you've got quite an assortment of mushrooms on vids you can paint now. Hope you do as that would be interesting but really gorgeous! Pretty sure you'll sleep good the next couple nights so sweet dreams and hike on!!!! Stay safe also...
Your laugh and attitude are always an "up" for me; thx for packing my ass along on your adventures and sharing with the rest of us. I can ONLY imagine the WORK and hassle of producing videos....ON the PCT, and uploading the same, all the while crushing mileage and getting a serious workout in. DAILY. Much respect!
Glad you’re back and you had some down time with your baby! So important💕 loved the train art.. I am always stopping to take pics of that because I just find it beautiful and those people are so talented! That last lake was such a peaceful little place. ✌🏼
Woot Woot, back at it. Hope you had a great time with your daughter, you really needed a break. Pretty cool day to get back on the PCT. Keep an eye peeled for the local Sasquatch. SAFE HIKING
Chemult is a hard one to say. "Chamult" is the way. No e, rather an A. Love those lakes. Lived in Oregon all my life and had no idea so many lakes were here.
Hey girl. Im loving your videos! I’m doing the PCT in 2021. I live in Portland. If you need any supplies from town I’d be glad to bring you whatever you might need once you get to the Bridge Of The God’s. I live right by REI. Just let me know. Keep up the awesome videos, you’re totally inspiring me!
PS-have I said how much I love these daily posts? I’m sure that its a lot of effort vs. weekly-but I am so addicted to watching now-great to have something to look forward to every evening 🙏🏼💕🌻
Looks like the break served you well. Glad you had that time with your daughter. Enjoy Oregon (I just did a 100 mile stretch starting at Hwy 58)... know this part of the trail well, and you’ve captured its magic nicely! Good luck on the home stretch!
You used to be able to hop the train in your corner of the world...not quit3 sure where exactly you are t present...going thru Crater wasn’t advised...but certainly Crater to Portland for N/S bound..hopping off well before Stumptown however.. ohh for the days... had to avail of the service going E/W in Oregon & Washington... Nice to see you back and so soon with all of that. Dedication forsooth!
In New Zealand they call hiking 'tramping'. So you would be right in line to hop a freight train. But, you probably should know where it's going. Thanks Kate!
Wahtum lake. I camped exactly there in June. A momma bear and cub walked by me about 50ft away. And some coyotes were fighting somewhere near overnight, that was scary
Glad to see you back on trail, Joseph here 71 y/o , from Austin Tx. You are hiking the trail for me, I have major ❤️problems, but in past years I have backpacked a great deal, Grand Canyon 6 x’s Big Bend x3, and various other treks including Yosemite, climbed the cables on the back of Half Dome as a teenager in a pair of cutoffs and converse tennis shoes, and kayaking and rock climbing many places. You have given me much joy experiencing the PCT❗️Keep on Trucking❗️❗️Oh yeah floated the Colorado River 225 miles. Lots of memories and bless you for adding to them❗️
So glad you had a break and time with your daughter. What you have dealt with is very tough. Wishing you smooth and lovely last free weeks of this adventure. No doubt you’ll make it - your positive and cheerful approach to your days is inspiring. Thank you
Yay! Kate, Glad you had a break with your daughter #18, how is that possible? You only look 24yo. Glad you are back. I enjoy your post!!! On to Canada!!!
Very happy you got to be with your lovely daughter and got some time to rest and relax. Stay safe and enjoy what God has created for all of us to care for.
For all you want to know about mushrooms, look up Paul Stamets. Guy wears a hat made out of mushrooms. Good to see you back. Happy Birthday, if its anywhere close. Take care!
You might find this pictoral key to NW mushrooms interesting and maybe even useful. www.alpental.com/psms/PNWMushrooms/PictorialKey/index.htm The mushrooms you show at 11:00 seem to be some kind of russula but more information on the environment and order and texture are needed to identify them.
The largest single organism in the world is a fungus. They do live underground and branch out like roots in widths so small you can’t tell they are there. Many of them only come up from the underground to spread spores as growths like mushrooms. Like your lake shot, so quite.
Try saying it Sha mullt, with a bit of emphasis on the second syllable - spelled Chemult but tough to pronounce...! Interesting little place almost in the middle of nowhere.
Kate, even at the end of the video u sound tired.. Don't know what you did with ur off trail time but plz do what you need to do to get physical and mental rest..... take care 🙂 Let momma nature embrace u n fill ur tank !!! block the rest out !!! Yes it would be nice to be at point "a" on your birthday but you are so much more important and of value then a birthday celebration.,. If ya get my point.
Mushrooms and all fungi are a really fascinating form of life. Check out this great documentary. It's on Netflix too. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y7mdAS7KlRw.html
next time u see the purple ones try to break a stem and if it breaks like chalk its a russula and is either a shrimp{delicious} or a rosy{horrible}both wont kill you.
btw im not suggestion you eat one but getting to know any mushroom is a process this is a first step, get to know them, only then should you try to eat them
