This video is about painting stucco, ceiling and ceiling plaster cornices by hand, DIY, with brushes and a roller. The materials used are Haft- & Sperrgrund insulating primer and Phönix Matt paint, manufactured by ALLIGATOR FARBWERKE GmbH, Germany.
Unfortunately, the fact of the "painting" with paint was not included in the video, as the recorded file was lost. This is not essential, as Phönix Matt is applied to the insulating primer in the same way as this primer is applied to itself as a second coat. There are a lot of such examples in the video.
The paint has a slightly warmer shade after drying, but the consistency is very similar to the Haft- & Sperrgrund insulating primer. During application, the difference in shades is not noticeable and you have to navigate only by the gloss of the fresh paint. This creates some inconvenience in working with these two materials, since it is clearly not visible to paint over the area or not to paint over.
Also, Haft- & Sperrgrund insulating primer can technologically act as an independent coating. The primer itself, like the paint, has a water-repellent effect after drying and is resistant to abrasion.
The whole process of this painting took us about 180 working hours.
In total, the entire work on the restoration of these ceilings took us about 1600 hours.
Only 83 square meters in floor area without eaves sweep.
This video is part of one large project for the restoration of the stucco ceiling in the old foundation of St. Petersburg, Russia.
