About the video: Leaving Clonmel in Tipperary....
Just so you Know - I am hiking from Dublin to the Great Blasket Islands in Co. Kerry. I will be sleeping in a tent and it will take approx 30 days to complete the 600km+ journey. Most of this trail is known as “Coast to Coast” but I have always had a fascination and urge to pitch my tent on the Great Blasket Island which is why I will head north upon reaching Killarney.
And in case you might be asking yourself, I am walking to the Great Blasket Islands because I really enjoy walking.

I must say your the first youtubers iv ever seen to consider the visually impaired on their video's, I'm not visually impaired myself but the consideration just to help people enjoy the experience was a very nice touch. Keep up your great work, you have inspired me to buy a tent and I'm going doing a motorcycle trip around ireland this summer. Kind regards James

Some information about the round towers. They are not mediaeval. It is now thought they were there before Christianity. They were pagan religious sites, and like they did with many pagan sites, beliefs and rituals, including the shamrock and Halloween, the Christians took them over and incorporated them with Christianity. Some say that the round towers had been there over 1500 years before the monks arrived. They also say that the monks did add the pointy tops. Some of the brickwork around the top is younger than the rest of the tower.
