I wouldn’t worry too much about much on the boys having to wait for you. You have done a lot of waiting for them! Great day of hiking. Glad that you are now in NH. Hang in there ! You’ve got this.
Congratulations on getting out of Maine, 🎊🪅🎉👏👏 you did great. Stop beating yourself up. As a follower from the beginning, let me add my 2 cents. 1) You're doing awesome!!! 2) When you were down south with the 2 other guys, you weren't hiking your hike. You said it a few times. Then, in VA, you branched out on your own towards the Delaware water gap, excited for the unknown. Yes, you were nervous, but we all knew you could and did, do it. 3) Look at what YOU have done already, so awesome!! 4) These 2 new guys are fun, and you feel safe but guilty by holding them back, but they don't seem to be in a hurry or mind. They are enjoying the trail and having you with them. You helped each other get through ME. IMO..... stay together and get through the Whites together. Then, if they want to go faster from MA on south, then so be it. If you want to hike your own hike, then do it. But get through the Whites, that might give you peace of mind. But... you know you can do it one way or another anyway. Rissa, as a grandmother with a granddaughter, i would tell her the same ... , I'm proud of you. You are strong, determined, and you got this. Keep heading south, you're awesome.
NH!!! Yay, so glad you're making progress and you're almost to 1600 miles and that's nothing to make fun of at all. Did you know that Sass is through hiking the rest of the Long Trail? Her completion vlog will be tomorrow. Crazy
Congrats on making it to New Hampshire! My favorite hiking state! You are going to be going through at a beautiful time of year. We will be up that way over Columbus Day weekend in Crawford Notch, but no bet you will be well past that area by then. I’m not sure you are holding up the boys, they seem to be traveling at a leisurely pace.
Also, why are you so concerned about slowing the boys down? Stop thinking about it. If they choose to hike with (or near) you, there's a reason. You guys obviously enjoy one another's company.
Mosey it's time to let go of your expectations. You are a rock star! You have been held in the hands of God so many times on this journey and whether or not the boys stay with you is out of your hands. Time to let it go ❤ I am so proud of you. Love and Light Tracy 🦋
Please do not feel guilty that you are holding up your friends. They are big boys who are hiking their own hike and they choose to stick with you because you are special to them. You are enriching their journey with a joyful spirit that shines even in the midst of adversity. If down the road they choose to move on that will be their decision. In the meantime enjoy the relationship you have created with them!
