My husband and I really liked this one. And by "this one" I mean the video. And David's reaction to the wine. Fabulous.

My reaction to the taste was actually like David. I shook my head as well. I noticed the mustiness right away. I'm a big fan of red blends, but not this one. I always enjoy Sarah reactions, and I just love her hair!!

Thanks for sharing! I like Sara's reactions too - she doesn't look at the wine or listen to anything I'm says - she just tastes it and goes.

You must have gotten a bad bottle or our tastebuds are way off. I am wondering what others thought. Ours was not tannic, very smooth and drinkable. It had good balance, I will post my pic in FB. We got slight cherry and more plum. My first smell was kind of yeasty, but that went away. My hubby noticed something, but thought it was earthy.

I wonder if some boxes just got a better bottle for this one because I did not get anything bitter or tannic at all. I didn't get much of anything, actually... a little bit of tannin, but nothing like the French Merlot that I compared to the Sahara. I did catch a whiff of cherry on the aroma (and I kinda had to work at it), and then went with pomegranate for the flavor, for the very brief moment I was able to detect any taste at all. It had a normal medium-body wine mouthfeel, but so little taste that I can barely tell I'm drinking anything. Truly bizarre.

I wonder too because...my bottle was not good - which brings up concepts like, bottle shock, improper storage, spoilage etc.

Did you consider that the wine is CORKED? The musty smell might be telling! My wine snob brother liked that wine!

The aroma of a corked wine is very distinctive - it smells like wet cardboard. This wine wasn't corked it just wasn't very good. Maybe your wine snob brother got a different wine because this wine was pretty bad by all the markers of quality....
