Anyone else on a Rhett and Link nostalgia binge watching kick? I've made it this far, and I started at the very beginning, with them tossing a huge rock off a bridge.
The fan meet ups are so cute! It's too bad that they're too popular to do things like this now, but it's clear from their meet & greets now that they haven't let it go to their heads and they still love and appreciate all of their fans.
Fuqua Varina! I used to live not too far from Littleton, on a cove of Lake Gaston, that jutted up into VA. The post office box was in Gasburg, VA until they closed it and transferred it all to Valentines. We jad to go to Roanoke Rapids for groceries until Food Lion put up a store near the bridge. The hospital was all the way to Rocky Mount.
This is how we play Cow Poker: A cow is 1 point, a horse can be 2 to 5 points (up to you and your partner), and a church and graveyard on your side makes you lose all your points. If the church is on one side and the graveyard is on the other then you don't lose any points or you can say you lose half your points. Hey, it makes it's interesting than you know just sitting there doing nothing. Also, if you're on a two lane road and are passing by all those road name signs you can act like what they say on your side is your destiny or future. You'd be surprise how much it works. lol!
I must admit, I was shocked to see that you guys went through Indiana on Interstate 64. Also, there really is nothing along I-64 in southern Indiana. Until you get to the US 231 exit. Holiday World! WOO!!!
Oh southern indiana....yea done that drive many a time, their really is nothing there. I love that you guys are going to the somewhat more forgotten parts of America. You're definitely capturing america.
Japan also has spectacular highways and lovely rest areas. Of course they're not as long as those in America, but you can still drive from a southern city to one in north.
easily the most professional roadtrip/meet-up vlog series ive ever seen. then again, i wouldnt expect anything less from our mythical leaders. i would give my non-existant prothstetic arm to go to one of those meetups. i mean that sincerely. greetings from Oh. HI. Oh. stay mythical, my friends.
The way I learned to play Cow Poker or "The Cow Game" is that you count the number of cows on your side of the car. If you pass a church, you double your cows. If you pass a cemetery, you lose all your cows. My Dad used to take special routes that had churches on his side and cemeteries on the other, so he would always win.
Rhett & Link, I could have told you that there's nothing in southern Indiana. Hell, that's Arizona for you too. Can't believed you stopped in Bullhead City, AZ.
i just saw you guys on a McDonald's commercial and i screamed causeing my mom to drop her phone and my dad to throw the clicker across the room :) made my day.
On a really clear day you can almost see from one side of the NZ south island to the other if you stand up in the port hills, trust me, i've seen it. (east to west)
You guys are SO lucky! My dream is to travel accross country on land! (as long as I am not driving). I totally envy you guys, and am looking forward to watching your web travels. Drive safely!!!! Thanks.
I was on a site the other day that had commercials playing in the side. I saw a mcdonalds commercial, and I saw someone that looked mysteriously like mystery guitar man. Then I saw Rhett sitting at the mcdonalds table! I had to get up and do a happy dance
The farthest distance from the US's eastern seaboard to its western seaboard is 2,800 miles. The distance from Cabo da Roca, Portugal to Gora Anoraga, Russia (it's the the peak of the easternmost point of the Ural Mountains) is 3406 miles (thus being the farthest distance across mainland Europe (I am assuming)). So, driving across the US pretty close to driving across Europe. It really depends on how much you really want to go to the extreme ends.
Just got back to Canada from America...went to plenty o rest stops on the twelve and a half hour bus ride, and I mist say they were each very special :) Although we do have them in Canada ;)
One thing's for sure, you couldn't do this kind of trip in France, it's too small. It takes 15 hours max to cross it from north to south and maybe 14 hours from east to west (because there's this legendary traffic jam in Paris that will take you 4 hours to cross... without that it would be even faster).
