This was another productive work day. The "Y" landed in exactly the wrong spot. The pressure of the backfill bearing down on the PVC fittings right at the corner of the footing was sure to crack at some point. I'm happy for you and your client that you found the "smoking gun"! I'm surprised to see that the corrugated and perforated plastic drain pipe is not full of silt. 50 years on, they all are in my region. We built them the same way - not filter fabric. If the trench got filled with "bank run" it was considered a good job. All the best 😊
Exactly! It was unfortunate placement, I do understand the thought process when they put the pipe there. I like these situations where I can learn from others mistakes! 🙂 I think the drain pipes will be in worse condition on the other side of the house, time will tell! You too! 😀
