That third game was riveting. Well done. Yes, the "maybe a little too ambitious" was warranted, but the situation was insanely precarious and the opponent didn't use the time to figure out all the threats

I have a rule to play no more than 4 rapid games a day, and stop playing for the day after losing two games in a row. I haven't experienced a big rating drop since I started doing that.

I actually disagree with the sentiment alot, if you play a solid opening where you know the plans and play more positionally, you will play alot faster which is crucial for blitz. Going into crazy tactical positions means you are going to have to burn more time calculating, and play for slower. For that reason I think tactical games are far better suited for longer time controls. Unless you mean "craziness" as in attacking, in which case I agree as attacking moves are easier to see in a few seconds than defensive moves
