Day 3 after Double Mastectomy - Pain Management & Side Affects

It's day 3 after I had my double mastectomy and, holy crap, this recovery is not fun! I'm non-responsive to most pain medication, so the meds I was originally given didn't do hardly anything. I also had a bit of a scare today when my heart started racing (120 bpm while resting!) and ended up having to chat with the doctor about possible side affects of the surgery and medication. Anyhow - what was your experience with pain after recovering from your double mastectomy? Any suggestions for better ways to manage the pain for those of us going through recovery?

Thank you for your honesty. I’m 17 days post op and still experiencing pain that Tylenol/ Advil does not help with

I'm so sorry for the delay. With chemo and radiation and recovery, I've severely neglected the channel. I hope your recovery has been going well! Did you end up needing chemo and/or radiation as well? I'm uploading a bunch of videos about my experiences with both soon, in case you need them.

It is brutal in U.K. they do you as a day case and give you paracetamol and two fake boobs. After 14 days you go back to the hospital for the bandage off. I am a pensioner and live alone. that first week isn't fun is it.
