Kavadikere History: Kavadi Kere is a beautiful lake spread over 62 acres, shines like a glass reflecting the sky and surrounding hills. There is also an ancient Durgadevi temple beside it. An amazing place to sight variety of birds. Till date the lake hasn't been dried, even during the harsh summers. Elders say this was formed by Bheema when Draupadi was thirsty during their exile and since there was no water nearby in the forest, with the blessings of Durga, Bheema with enough strength got innumerable pots of water from River Ganga and made this lake.
