The Trout Creek log home from Meadowlark Log Homes continues to take shape At the customers site in Colorado.
Day 4, 5, and 6 show the progression of the roof system all the way through the foam spray insulation in the roof on Day 6. You will see the incredible stability, strength and high insulation value of this spray foam as it seals in between and even underneath all of the rafters creating a one piece layer over the entire roof, unbroken from top to bottom left to right.
IT RAINED ON THE PROJECT!
But don’t worry, the professional team at Meadowlark Log Homes knows how to handle that! Justin directs the crew to install a quick layer of plastic over the entire house thereby shielding it from any rain and protecting the beautiful lumber that forms the ceiling of the home.

Always nice to see your videos, power tools and machines under air pressure being worked on and no one wearing safety glasses!! I took mine off using a sanding wheel, only a second later I became blind for two years before surgery . Its not worth not wearing them!

Awesome. How thick is the T and G on the roof. What size are the rafters over the T and G. How is the Electric ran through the cabin. Thank you

The t&g is 3/4” and the I- joist roof rafters are 9-1/2”. The logs have holes drilled to run wires.

I always wonder how the roof is insulated- how many inches do you spray or what r-value are you getting? In Nova Scotia code is r60 I think so you would have to spray 9"?

Most of the US is 5 inches R38 and in colder climates it’s R49 8 inches. I think R 60 would be just a bit over 9 inches.

@@AmishMeadowsOfficial I called a local contractor yesterday and they said code for cathedral ceiling would only be r31 so 5" would be enough. However, I couldn't believe when he said that they charge 7.5CAD/sqaure foot for 5". That sounds extremely expensive to me or is that normal?
