Day 47: The Reunion / CDT Thru-hike 2024

I intend to hike the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) in 2024 and will vlog my experience. Follow me under "Old Man and the CDT."
I am Mike Current, 61-years-old, and retired military. I served for over 30 years in the US Army.
After retirement, I opened two small businesses. But after a few years, I sold both businesses because they were taking time away from pursuing personal goals, like hiking and sailing.
I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) in 2020 and Appalachian Trail (AT) in 2022. I vlogged (video journaled) my experiences under "Old Man and the PCT" and "Old Man and the AT", respectively.
I sailed around the Chesapeake Bay in my Tayana 37 sailboat over the summer of 2023 and vlogged the experience under the RU-vid channel "Old Man and the Sea."

Good morning Mike! I want you to know how much we are enjoying these vlogs of your experience on the CDT. I am GrapeNut's Mom, and getting to see what "HE" sees has been quite a gift!!! Grapenut is an incredible person. It has been my privilege to walk with him on trail. You raised a good son. I hope to see Grapenut in Salida today, as tonight is game seven of the Stanley Cup.

Amazing views! I have never hiked in the Rockies. Love the moose! Have only see one in Alaska.

Wow! Another great energized day on the CDT! What were those two furry creatures hanging out on the rocks, starting at 3:16? Prairie dogs? At those elevations?

Epic scenery again. It just keeps getting better. And the wildlife. Incredible. I’m envious 😁🌲. And as someone else mentioned, if you can, give us the names of the passes or peaks so we can get a better sense of where exactly you are. Thanks so much for posting. Wow! The scenery was incredible! I recognized "The Window", the perfect "U" slot in the mountain. We live north of Pagosa and can see it from our house. And I hiked Vallecito Creek trail just the other day! Of course, I didn't go nearly as far as the CDT. Thanks for sharing your journey. Epic!

Morning, Mike. Great scenery again today. Those mountains and passes were neat. Ya'll did really well today. Definitely shows how much stamina and determination ya'll have. And a 20-mile day is amazing. Was neat to see all the animals, especially the moose. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Thanks for including Early Bird and Grapenut in your fantastic views of a beautiful place.
