Hello, Folks! This is Day 8 of our Europe III Travel Series, and the 2nd and last day of our stay in Beautiful Venice! We soaked up what Venice has to offer by walking through three Districts - the Cannaregio, San Polo and the San Marco Districts! The hotel we stayed in, The Royal San Marco Hotel, is located in the more touristy San Marco District, which is highlighted by the presence of St. Mark's Square! The San Polo District is where the Mercato Rialto, or the Rialto Market, is located! The area we walked through is still a little bit touristy because the famous Rialto Bridge is very near it! This bridge links the San Marco and San Polo Districts! The Cannaregio District is located north of The San Marco District, and the heart of it is a little bit far from St. Mark's Square, and the vibes there are a little bit subdued, and is an area where the locals meet each other! It is also the area where a number of Cicchetti places thrive! Cicchetti is a signature food item of the Venetians! They are pieces of bread topped with various tasty food items such as meat, fish, vegetables and seafood, masterfully mixed together to form these nice-looking finger foods! At last, we were able to experience eating this type of food that can only be found here in Venice!
That afternoon, we spent it touring the Doge's Palace ourselves! Actually, it's just me who toured the whole Palace-turned-Museum, and I truly enjoyed it, especially when I took a peek outside from the Bridge of Sighs! That was the highlight of my own tour of the Palace! This is must-do part of my Venetian experience!
Venice is truly a beautiful city to experience from time to time! This is already my second time visiting this wonderful city, and I feel that it's not going to be the last! I truly hope that one day, you and your loved ones can experience it as well!
