Hungary has several hiking trails all over the country. the Hungarians love hiking as outdoor activities. That's why the hiking trails are well marked and easy to locate. Even next to the capital city, Budapest, you can find several options to hike.
Zsongor ko is perfect if you are looking for a day hike from Pécs or Kaposvar, Hungary. We started the hike from Cserkut street. You can probably take public transportation to reach the starting point, but to be honest I do not have information on that part. The total time required was 2.5 hours up and down.
The trail is very interesting all its way. In the beginning, there is a bit deserted path, and as we got higher, we walk between dense forest with broken trees in between, And at the top part, there is a very path which is made cutting stones. So, you get to walk on flat stones which are rough and indeed high.
So, the hike did look easy at first but with time, we need to be careful with every step. Not to mention, while coming down I tripped off thrice. So, please be careful.
We did not find any store on the trail path so it is important to get your liquids and snacks.
