Hahahahaha Piggly Wiggly, what a name. Thanks for sharing this video, its very interesting. Here in the UK they dont deliver products like drinks separately for the big stores, for the smaller stores they'll do it but the big supermarkets deliver all of their products on the same trailer. So youll get like drinks, cereal, toilet paper (non reefer/freezer) all on one trailer, then another driver comes with reefer/freezer with cold products etc. What would normally happen is that someone like yourself who delivers bulk drinks would just deliver your entire load to a distribution centre, then the distribution centre would load what a store needs into a trailer for another driver to take like i mentioned above. Also, from watching another Pepsi driver video, you guys get paid so much more than drivers in the UK, you get $30 an hour, right? Here you get maybe $19-$25 depending where you work.
That's half your truck at the first stop. Gravy man.......I ran a short bulk truck in Malibu California with 26 stops. I did chain stores, mom and pops and restaurants. I started at 4 am and didn't get back to the yard till around 8pm at night. It was too much. I was off on medical leave for an injury. And nobody could get it done. So they ended up splitting it into two days. So when I came back to the route I had it made. I was done in 7 hrs. With an hour ride back.
Cool video. As a fellow Pepsi driver, I enjoy the job. At my location we do both geo and bulk on our routes, they are not separate routes. It’s cool To see how other locations do it.
They said Pepsi is bad to work for? I work for Pepsi in Orlando,FL making 27 n hour. I average about 12 hours a day and overtime is time and a half which is $40.50. We work between 4 and 5 days. Minimum $1000 check 💪🏻
nice video! I work for a company that hauls organic/natural foods and we deliver to co-ops, small health food stores, and grocery stores. i mainly run at night doing the grocery stores such as whole foods and market baskets from Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. Pay aint too bad but i miss being out on the road instead of running local and being home every night :)
Thanks a lot and for watching! That sounds like a nice gig right there. I’m thinking about going to drive for Dollar General. It’ll be more driving and like you said being on the road a bit more. It gets old going to the same places at times.
You have earned my sub! You honestly deserve a lot more subscribers too. This was a really nice video. I always hear people say Pepsi or any beverage truck company is "bad" to work for (they could be wrong lol) but you handled it like a boss.
Probably sideloaders, Geo Box, mini bulk stack n wheel... yes the pallets you have to break down , hand truck it in, check it in, rotate it in the back stockroom/ walk in cooler is for a long day
When you start off in the morning are you having to take pallet jacks and skid steers from other trucks? I’ve seen a lot of other videos of workers having to do that
pretty neat seeing a youtube vid of this stuff. i worked for coca-cola in north al for a good while. have lots of respect for anyone in the beverage line of work.
Looked like a busy day bud.. Glad you got thru it..!! Haven't seen any new vids from you in a bout a week or so, June 26th today, hope everything is ok with you..Cheers man..
@@Codystruckingadventures Good to hear you took some time off. I spoke to my Pepsi driver this morning about you and how very similar / practically identical to how your company operates. He said that he was very interested in checking out your vids, and told him that he should. I think the world of my American friends and enjoy moments chatting with them at my place of work about fishing stories and so on. You are a cool guy bro, glad our paths crossed this way.. Thank you.. Cheers..!! 👍👍
So do you unload the pallets ? Do you have to merchandise and put everything you deliver on shelves ? I just applied to this position in Cali bro. Thanks for the videos 🙏🏼🙏🏼
You got a head cam by any chance man?? As a truck owner I can’t stop picturing you walking around with a phone in one hand filming everything when you should be working Love your vids just as a business owner myself it’s hard to not see 😅😅 No judgements man, only having a laugh and how I see silly things Keep on trucking and all the best please be safe out there ❤
So working for Pepsi does your route switch every single day or the route they gave you has the same stores just different amount of drinks for the same store everyday?
If you are assigned to a route then you will rotate in your route area doing different stores every other day. If you don’t have a route then you will do other peoples routes every other day and get to sight see. It’s a lot of fun and you get to build up your experience because every store is different.
Little heads up. Always do a pre-trip and only consume their product especially if you are on camera. Worked at the Rock for many years. Got tired of it. Always fluctuating your commission to suit their needs. Doesn’t matter how many cases you deliver, they will pay you the same. Good luck man!
Man it didn’t take me long at all. I left and been with another company now and not throwing any cases and making more. I couldn’t deal with the bs there. Thanks man appreciate the comment.
@@Codystruckingadventures I like working for pepsi, but here's what I hate about pepsi. Our managers don't protect us from hostile customers. Pepsi scolds us when we get into altercations, and we aren't allowed to defend ourselves. Pepsi expects us to stock all the stores we go to, which it shouldn't be like that, especially with gas stations, they should stock their own freight, and Pepsi, well.. the plant I work in, makes me do alot of shady shlt, like driving up a mountain coveted in ice, snowing badly, mixed with fog, and they make me carry bibs downstairs for restaurants which is an Osha violation as well, and my manager to me that those restaurants were an exception. I'd be more than happy to work for pepsi until I retire if they just allow us to drop and go. Hell, id even be happy with tossing it into Blackstock.
@@Codystruckingadventures it's because pepsi only cares about the customers, and not the workers who make their money for them. It's even shlttier with wincos, because now they don't let us use scan sheets to check in, they make us break each pallet down, so winco can scan on product even though they can clearly see the product. And pepsi won't even lift a finger to help us. I know pepsi pays walmart a fee to use asn, which is where you scan one scan barcode per pallet and your done, in and out within 30 minutes. But now with winco, it takes me almost 2 hours, and now since our location took on Gatorade full blown, it's been worse. But like I said, pepsi would be ideal If they just listened to us drivers, because every summer, we loose over half our team, 25 drivers, and takes us all winter to stock back up, and then it starts all over again. I've even gotten to the point where I make gas station coolers look full by only filling 6 bottles deep, if you do that, it saves you time, and when the cashier takes a look from the outside, it looks full. But it's still ridiculous because every store I go to, have excess amount of people, just hanging out when they could use those people to stock that freight. And the accounts who don't let me bring in blue boards, and make me dolly everything in, I just Blackstock and leave. Its like, in allowed 30 minutes per stop, if you exceed that time, I'm not stocking for you. Bye. Pepsi should just give up and allow Blackstock. The managers from different states who came to help us last year all questioned our manager on why we have to stock everything, because in their states they Blackstock it all, and never have a shortage of drivers, hmmmm I wonder why???
Gonna start for Pepsi soon. Any tips? I’m a strong dude at 250 played football my whole life n what not just looking to work a little and take a break from school. Judging from what I’ve seen looks like I’ll enjoy the job.
Glad to see you’re enjoying it after the issue with cypress. I have about 10 days left with a trainer then I’ll be out on my own and posting some videos.
Just curious, you got to the yard trailer was not hooked up but you said you did a pre-trip I don’t understand how you can do pre-trip when your tractor is not hooked to the trailer.
@@Codystruckingadventures Bud you’re the one that said you pre-trip to the trailer when it was sitting there without a tractor that didn’t say you didn’t video it
