Day in medical school (university of melbourne): Learning about the HARDEST Jr Doctor shift 

Hi everyone, I'm Aashima, a final year medical student at the University of Melbourne. I'm currently on my emergency placement, and I'm also applying for internships. I'm not sure if I'm ready for the real world, but I'm excited to find out!
In this vlog, I'm going to give you a glimpse into my life as a medical student. I'll show you how I prepare for my internship interview, and I'll share some of my tips for maintaining a healthy balance on my placement. I'll also talk about my experience working on a cover shift, which is notoriously the hardest intern job.
I'm so excited to be starting my internship applications! I've been working hard to prepare, and I'm feeling confident. I've been researching the hospitals I'm applying to, practicing answering common interview questions, and dressing professionally. I'm also making sure to get enough sleep, eat healthy foods, and exercise regularly.
I'm also trying to maintain a healthy balance on my emergency placement. It can be really demanding, but I'm trying to find ways to take care of myself. I make sure to take breaks when I need them, and I'm not afraid to ask for help when I'm struggling. I'm also trying to make time for my hobbies and interests. It's important to me to have a life outside of medicine.
I've been working on a cover shift this week, which is notoriously the hardest intern job. It's been challenging, but I'm learning a lot. I'm learning how to be organized and efficient, how to think on my feet, how to work under pressure, and how to communicate effectively with patients and staff. It's been a great experience, and I'm grateful for the opportunity.
I'm excited to see what the future holds! I'm hoping to get an internship at a great hospital, and I'm looking forward to starting my career in medicine. I know it's going to be challenging, but I'm up for the challenge. I'm excited to help people and make a difference in the world.
