don’t be discouraged - your body isn’t failing you!! it’s completely normal and healthy for women to go past 40 weeks with their first baby. doctors like to schedule unnecessary inductions around this time. you have options, but despite how it happens, it truly will be okay. you’ve got this and you are already an incredible momma. ❤️

Due dates are an estimation. It could be +2 weeks or -2 weeks accurate. Your baby knows when he is ready. You can’t rush the process. Trust your body and baby to know what to do!!!! 39 weeks is still early. Lean into your contractions and don’t fear them. Baby boy will be here soon.

Girl I’m about to be 41 weeks and haven’t progressed since 38 weeks and I’m hardly a cm dilated. Don’t feel discouraged. I absolutely do not want to be induced either, but am probably going to have to schedule one for the next week and a half as well❤️we got this! I’ll be praying for y’all!!

I know exactly how you’re feeling mama! I was in your shoes this time last year I gave birth to my daughter at 41 weeks exactly it’s so frustrating going to appointments and having no progress but it will all work out and you will have your son here before you know it. Stay strong mama ❤️

I TOTALLY know how you’re feeling right now 🙈 I just had my second baby, overdue both times and was induced both times as well. Nothing can really prepare you for how mentally/emotionally taxing those days are. Just a word of encouragement, inductions aren’t all bad! I had wonderful experiences both times and very quick labors! Praying the same for you! ♥️

prodromal labor is super common and normal! it’s your body practicing and preparing - baby boy will come exactly when he’s meant to!! i know it’s frustrating, but he’s still in there because he’s still growing and getting ready to live in the outside world. the longer he stays cooking, the healthier he will be once he is born. hang in there mama!

Oooh girl. Those last weeks & days are SO hard. I felt all the same things as you! I was 0cm at the appointment 2 days before I had my baby - when I ended up going into labor things moved so quickly - praying this over you. I was over 40w! He can’t stay in forever girl! Hang in there momma 🤍💙

I know it is SO hard to not feel discouraged hearing no news - I’ve been there, I did EVERYTHING and nothing. You are not alone. Your body is not failing you! It’s just learning. And to give you peace of mind, I was induced at 41 weeks and had a great birth experience and had a healthy baby girl who was 7lb 14oz! so still a sweet size not too massive😂

i understand your feelings completely! i felt the same way and ultimately had to get induced at 40+1 weeks due to high blood pressure. the thing that kept me motivated was my dr telling me that baby was coming out no matter what and at the end of it all i wouldn’t care how she came.

Hey don’t be discouraged because everything happens for a reason. I personally was afraid of getting induced but I had such a positive induction and my baby came 37 weeks June 20 2023 I was due July 10th. Have faith Gods got it girl! You’re going to have such a positive induction and it will all be worth it once baby gets here 🤍

i got induced at 39 wks & it was FAST. went in at 8pm had her at 5:53am :) you got this!! try not to focus on the time even though it’s the hardest thing everrrr i remember being so ready to have her. wishing you a healthy timely birth how you vision 💜

Don’t be discouraged!! I was 37 weeks when I had to be induced because I had cholestasis of pregnancy! It’s not what I expected but honestly it was the most peaceful birth!! So I’m praying for you girl that regardless of what happens you have the most peaceful and wonderful birth! ALSO, If a nurse is ever rude to your during labor just remember you can fire them and report them! Have your husband stick up for you! And you can still have options even during an induction! You got this mama!

You are doing amazing! I FEEL YOU THOUGH!!!! I went to 41 weeks and 4 days and I was so over it I just wanted my sweet boy to be here already. The day I was suppose to be induced I went into active labor but ended in a c-section his heart rate dropped because my body wasn’t dilating and he was trying to come out. Anyway, just some encouragement I loved having a c-section. Yes I did want to have my baby vaginally but I got to see my baby quicker I didn’t have to go through all that pain giving birth. Recovery after a c-section is kinda rough but only for a week or two. I definitely would have another one. Hang in there sweet lady! You got this!! 💗💗

Our due dates were three days apart, I was due July 26th. I felt the exact same way and had him at 40w2d yesterday! Went into labor after my second membrane sweep. Didn’t progress past 1cm dialated until being in active labor for a couple hours. You got this!

with my first baby boy, i had to be induced 4 days past due date! did all the walking etc. it’s definitely draining & difficult to wait. but, honestly he will come in the most perfect time. 🤍 also, being induced is not scary, and actually was so much easier to know everything ahead of time - know when your going to the hospital, when you start feeling contractions you can easily get epidural, you are already settled in the hospital & it’s just very peaceful from my experience! don’t be discouraged. definitely not scary at all!! coming from the experience of being induced from not. being induced was so much easier than rushing to the hospital when my daughter decided to come 2 weeks early & were speeding to the hospital 😂 hopefully that brings some light to how being induced goes. if you end up in that situation! 🤍

I know how real the anxiety is to still be pregnant. I am pregnant w/my 2nd child however I will be getting induced on Monday at 39 weeks 3 days due to GD and my husband being out of town. My 1st came at 37 weeks 2 days, so pretty early! Just hang in there and enjoy these last few days/weeks of just you and your husband. Baby will be here before you know it!

With my first, I was 3.5cm for 2 weeks & still had to get induced on my due date!! So sometimes dilation means nothing!! First time moms usually go past their due dates!! You’re doing amazing 🩷 I’m pregnant with baby #2 (37.5 weeks) 💙

I also drink 2 bags of raspberry tea a night, and I definitely think it has helped but I started with 1 bag at 32 weeks and 2 bags a night at 35 weeks. Also s** can help 🤭

I can totally understand the anticipation and how the last month feels forever long! I know it’s hard, but soak in the last little bit of it being just you two ♥️ praying for a smooth and beautiful delivery! Your body will know exactly what to do when it’s time, and it’s a great sign that you’re having braxton hicks even though it feels like it’s for nothing. P.s. I know you’ve probably heard it a million times, but sex helps to induce labor… tried and true 😆

Wishing you all the best but don’t stress out all the walking and moves they say to do doesn’t necessarily help going into labor, you just go when your body is ready but hopefully you’ll go into labor naturally, being induced was not fun 😩 and still I had to have an emergency c section baby was not ready to come out but I was only 38 weeks

It’s totally normal for first time mommy’s to go past their due date. You really don’t need to get induced until around 42 so advocate for yourself if you really don’t want an induction. Baby will come when he’s ready but wanted to share that I had a very positive induction (which I didn’t want either) about 6 weeks ago. You may be pleasantly surprised with how well things will go 🩷 I understand it’s frustrating either way but just make sure to advocate for yourself.

I went 40w3d with my first son last year… I probably would have been induced if it weren’t for getting a membrane sweep… got it at 10:30am and had him at 11:40pm… for some it works but I feel like you’re in the same kind of position I was so I wanted to share if they had that option for you. Also I was literally 1cm dilated at that Dr Appt.

It wasn’t bad like I had heard people say induction is. I had a beautiful birth; one that Jesus orchestrated. A birth unexpected. He is orchestrating yours as well🩵

Trust me, I did not want to get induced either. I was trying to go natural, but a lot of doctor say it is common your first baby you will get induced because your body is not used to everything. I got induced on a Thursday afternoon had my son the following day the medicine does work fast, but real contractions are way worse than Braxton Hicks

L/D nurse here (: inductions can be scary if you have never done it before, but it’s typically very routine & simple! even though it’s ideal for our bodies to know to go into labor on it’s own, oftentimes with your first baby it’s not uncommon to have to convince your body to go into labor. it can be a long and frustrating process but you will be so well taken care of and will do amazing!

Cass please don’t feel discouraged. Having a baby is natural thing and no doctor should force a baby to come out unless something is wrong if your baby is healthy and you are then baby will come on it’s own time it should not be rushed. Women’s bodies are made to have babies naturally not be induced. So please don’t be discouraged the baby will come when it’s ready. That is how God made women to have baby naturally. The baby is just not ready but if you keep waiting it will come before you know it. It’s all in Gods timing.

As a birth doula, 99% of my all clients give birth 40 + with the majority of women 41 +. I wish providers would tell women to expect to be pregnant until 42 weeks, without pushing induction of labour as that comes with its own risks. It sounds like you're in pre labour which can go last a week or weeks. Enjoy these last weeks mama xx

I just had my baby July 10th. I was convinced that she would come early & I did ALL the things to try and naturally induce labor. Nothing worked for me! I ended up having to be induced which I was so sad about it because it does feel embarrassing or like your body is failing you. But it’s not! My body just needed extra help getting started & that is totally normal because my body had never gave birth before! I had a super positive & successful induction the day of my due date & my little girl is here now & I wouldn’t change a thing. Trust your gut & do what is best for your family! 🩷

I’m 22 years old, and at 39 weeks + 6 days I went into labor that night, my only sign was I lost my mucous plug that morning. Contractions came on so fast and I had my baby the next day on his due date. He is my first. You never know what can happen! Wishing you luck. 🩵
