I've been interning for about a month now and I finally have a general routine down so I wanted to share what a usual day at the office looks like for me! - Social Media - Instagram: / emma.rui_
What’s your salary? I’m looking forward to apply positions over there! Can you please tell me what entry level are open there. Currently I’m pursuing my bachelor’s degree in business administration! Please guide me through this!
Google provides interns with a relocation stipend but interns have to find housing themselves. They do provide us with some tools that make it easier to find housing!
For me, I applied near the end of August last year and they reached out to me in December for interviews. I scheduled two back-to-back technical interviews that were 45 minutes each and they got back to me with an offer mid-January!
While all of these amenities seem great there is a problem here. For starters the career fields at tech industries in silicon valley offers great rewards up front it is gonna be longevity and job security as the issue. As is noticed most who work at places like google are under 40 and even a great % under 30. It will remain this way meaning longevity is capped as you age. Unless you are of the extremely talented your job will always be in danger. I read somewhere that software engineers are changing jobs like people do underwear. If you're 45+ and get laid off the job opportunities dry up in the valley and you will find great difficulty getting a similar job. If I were in a tech job the goal would have to be running your own start up or choosing another profession if job security is a concern. You dont stay 25 forever....we age and it happens in a blink of an eye.
