My son has severe Inattentive ADHD and we were told he would never be able to get a High School Diploma. He persisted and struggled, got his High School Diploma, a College Diploma and a Bachelor Degree after that. We all kept telling him that he can do it. He has managed to hold down several part-time jobs but I do wish however that we had taught him more life skills.

Fellow special needs momma here. (Autism) I find your videos so relaxing and encouraging! The ones about homeschooling Sophie are especially helpful to me as my son is about to start kindergarten in the fall. It gives me so much hope and I feel like I can do it too. Just wanted to say hello even though I am usually silent and let you know how much the videos bless me! The recipes too!

Oh I love these types of videos so much. Glad for the updates on the girls and that all is going well with them. I still can’t believe that time has flown by as much as it has. Sophie was so little when I first started watching your channel and Katie was a freshman or sophomore in HS!! Anyway, great video! 😊

Adaley is the same way. She just turned 13 and is at a 3rd/4th grade level. I’m just progressing at her pace and hoping she’ll at least make it to 8th grade level before she graduates. Way to keep your head up and keeping her goals! She is blessed to have you! ❤️

I’ve started doing my devotional after our evening meal!!! My older kids can’t do school too early as they aren’t morning ppl!!! I’ve looked into later graduation if needed for my dyslexic kids!!! It sounds like Sophie is doing awesome!!! Follow her leading and allow her to show you what she can do!!! I’m seeing my special need kids show me they can do stuff they shouldn’t and I love it!!! It’s awesome that Katie has started her jr yr and it’s in person!!!

Breakfast is our favorite too! I love eating all things breakfast type food especially blueberry muffins or pancakes. YUM! I haven't tried scones before, so maybe I'll have try with blueberries. Thanks for sharing your day with us as always.

Great Video!!! You mention you do Bible Recap, please check out, Heart Dive with Kanoe Gibson. This is 2nd year we are going thru the whole bible, using the bible recap..Kanoe explains the scriptures and I get a ton out of it. Such rich content. blessings to you! Kathleen, Texas

Glad to see you and Sophie❤Out umbrella(Homelife academy) requires 4 years of math in high school..you can do any 4years of math you want to…and get a diploma…they have number of credits required but not specifics like Calculus, Algebra 2 etc. I would also look into a trade/ vocational school…hands on learning may be a great fit(they often have a tour time). They often have one classroom and focus on that one accomplishment like secretary,phlebotomist, car mechanics

We do have some specifics-I think Algebra 1 is mandatory but other than that the classes have to be high school level.

Oh my! I am motivated to clean my refrigerator, but we have church in the evening and so it will have to wait until tomorrow. Thank you for the motivation. Sophie is adorable!

Unfortunately our medical system isn’t as advanced as it should be in our world now. Medical personnel seem to spew old wives tales instead of researching more into something they aren’t familiar or comfortable with. I don’t believe in telling someone they will “never” be able to do, become or overcome something. You are doing God’s work with Sophie, bless you. Love the new antique gold kitchen hardware, so pretty. Thank you for sharing your life with us, helps me remind myself to stay on task and stay organized ❤

I love your attitude of not telling her what she can't do!!! Let her decide what she can and can't do. I've heard of kids doing things they were told they can't, and I imagine Sophie is doing just that! I enjoy your school updates, even though my daughter is in high school.

Hi Colleen, thanks for the visit and thanks for the update on your girls. Katie sounds like she is doing good and is getting adjusted with the move. A move is never easy especially in college. Sophie sounds like she is doing good too. God Bless you for your hands on and knowing what is best for her. You were told that Sophie wouldn't be able to do certain things and she has done it!! She is using third grade in all Paces? I started my son with the Language Arts Paces and so far we rae loving it. MY son has autism he is in third grade but he is a year behind. I started him on second grade for Paces but makes me wonder if I should have done first grade first. Do you find Paces behind or advanced compared to a regular school curriculum? Thank you always.

She’s just finished up 3rd grade and moved to 4th in all Paces. We move slowly though. I feel like Paces is either in grade level (or slightly below if compared to Abeka or TG&TB).

My Daniel Fast ended, so it was easier to see the scones today.😁 Is Katie specializing her business major (finance, marketing, etc.)? Does she still want a career in real estate? It was so nice to see Sophie working so independently. She has come so far in such a short time. Can you tell me about your mason jar candles? I just purchased a candle lamp for my kitchen and my bathroom and I need to find some new candles. It's in the 30s today in TR, last week we got up to the low 70s. I am ready for the dreary skies to give way to spring. I worked on my kitchen cabinets and refrigerator this week. I'm learning to love these simple things. I love the new cabinet hardware. I wish that I could change out my stainless steel appliances for something prettier, they always have fingerprints and they are so easy to scratch.

😂Make the scones, friend! Katie’s major is business management and she is still planning to go into real estate. I have candles from 1803 Candle Co and Antique Candle Co. the 1803 have a stronger smell but I think I prefer the others.

Thank you! Carson would definitely prefer chocolate chip; Brent and I would want blueberry. I lost 5 inches off of my stomach on the fast, and I'm going to try very hard to do all things in moderation as I bring them back into my diet. I will order some candles. @@simplejoyfilledliving

Did you do brunch while Katie was in school too? If so, how did you manage that while keeping Katie on track with her work?

Yes, we have done this since Katie was in 8th or 9th grade. She was very self motivated so she would start her work around 7:30 or 8, we would have brunch around 10:30 and then do any together work, and then I would do Sophie's individual work with her while Katie did her own work. Once Sophie was done I would check back in with Katie. She's doing pretty much the same now with college except for the days that she is at school.
