Hi! I commute because I live off campus with family but i know that If you want to live off campus and rent a room or apartment it would cost you atleast $1k a month for a room in a shared house. New York is expensive :/
You can drive or take the bus, its like a 5 minute car ride - there are a ton of restaurants in the area - Alot of asian cuisine, Italian, fast food (Mcdonalds, Burger king, Ect), Jamba juice, and alot more places.
@@chloedarling8986 Downtown Port Jeff has a lot of great local spots too: Ruvo, 5th Season, Prohibition Kitchen, Sports bars, etc. I like Cabo Fresh and Shake Shake near the mall too.
Taco Bell study parties. "Boring" school, most people go there to study and graduate. The great majority of "party people" disappear after a few (flunked) semesters. That was my experience back in the 90's. though- ancient history. Nowadays, who knows? This kid and her friends seem to be pretty studious, intelligent and eloquent people to me, so probably, not much has changed.
Party scene at SBU currently still is lame as hell. Nothing much has changed. You gotta know the right people to be able to have a good time/be able to get in. If you're looking just to party, the classes here will also kick your ass. So, no
There definitely are parties! You just have to know who the partiers are, know people who know people, or be friendly with the frats/sororities. Im a nerd and not really a partier but attended about 2-3 decent parties while at stony.
