Hey Carissa! Always love your vlogs 💕 I’m actually a physician and just wanted to let you know that menthol can be a common ingredient that causes perioral dermatitis, which is found in Carmex. You can find it in other lip products as well, so that’s likely the ingredient you need to avoid! Other common triggers can be cinnamon and peppermint scents/flavors. I hope that helps!! The most basic ingredient that is usually harmless is petroleum, so using Vaseline or Aquaphor are good options! The Laneige lip balms do not have menthol, neither do the ilia lip balms. Lanolips is great too - lanolin is a very hydrating ingredient. You can even just buy straight lanolin and use it on your lips. You’ll find it in the baby/breastfeeding aisles 😉

I have super sensitive skin and I’ve definitely had chapstick do that before! I have to stay away from the super minty ones. Sometimes toothpastes will do it to me too!
