Hey everyone! I filmed this DITL back in October when my twins were only 2 months old! This is when we were first figuring out Emilias intolerance issues and getting her GERD diagnosed. I show their medicine routines and what we did to help work through both babies reflux and spit up issues. I also mention what foods her doctor had me cut out -she's now almost 10 months old & I'm still off the same foods. Here I was still working from home with the help of Grandma and between nap times. I hope this gives a good idea of twin/new baby life for anyone out there that's curious or interested. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! Thank you so much for following along with our family! We love and appreciate the support!

Hello Carly. Thanks for making this video. It was so informative. I have twin daughters too and one of them has severe reflux and is taking Omeprazole. When did it get better for your daughter and when could you wean her off the medication?

I actually need to make another video all about her reflux. We were on Omeprazole too and were able to wean her off of it a few weeks after she started solids which was around 6 months old. Our Dr told us that the solids helped keep things down and thats typically the best time to wean off. She said you don't want to keep them on it for too long otherwise it might interfere with their little system too much and end up needing it long term. She had really good head and neck control so we were able to start her solids around 5 months old and we started with baby oatmeal. I hope this helps!! Sending lots of love to your little one! Also - side note. She ended up being intolerant to eggs dairy and soy. Shes 18 months now and we haven't had any luck reintroducing any of those yet.

@@CarlyPederson Thanks for sharing your experience. It's good to know that the reflux gets better..I would look out for the video from you. My LO is 5 months now and I will be asking to dr about introducing solids soon. Thanks again and wishing you the best..

Love your channel. You did a great job with the twins! I don’t know how you did all that. You’re a super mom ❤️ My son has bad reflux and he’s on medication. But we have to hold him upright 24/7. He would cry if we lay him flat. How long did you have to hold Emilia up right before putting her down? It’s a struggle with us 😢

Aww poor guy! We ended up putting a small rolled up towel under her bassinet mattress (so it’s not loose in her bassinet) so she could be slightly elevated when we laid her down. Then during the day she was usually lounging in her swing or in the poppy lounger and we’d even prop an extra pillow under the lounger so she was elevated. We did the for a few months until she got old enough to roll over or move a lot because we didn’t want her to fall or anything.

Congrats on your twins!! That is so exciting! We lasted all the way to 38 weeks and I had a scheduled C section. I didn't attempt to get induced because I was afraid of going through all of that and then having to do a C section anyway. I had braxton hicks contractions for at least a month before then too. I have a video up of my delivery if you're interested in watching it. :)

How did you know she was having this issue? My baby girl keeps crying really bad but the boy is fine

Aww I'm so sorry! Their Dr told us signs to look out for which was arching and crying after feeding and eczema was another sign. She said dairy and soy were the most common intolerance for babies and so I started paying attention to what I ate and I noticed after I had dairy queen ice cream one night she really reacted but I wasn't sure if that was really it but when I noticed it a second time then I knew it was dairy for sure. We ended up taking her to the Dr because she just wouldn't stop crying after she ate even after the dairy and they had me take out soy, nuts and egg and got her on an acid blocker because they said based off her symptoms they assume she had reflux and after all of that she FINALLY felt better! We've been free of all of that now over a year and have had her tested and she now has an epi pen for eggs but the others are still considered intolerance and not an actual allergy. I'm hoping she grows out of it. Good luck to you! If you find out you have to take things out let me know if you need food ideas. It was really rough in the beginning ing for me to figure out what to eat! 😭

Also how much are they drinking at 2 months
@CarlyPederson
@CarlyPederson 2 года назад
I don't remember the pumped ounces they were drinking but they were eating every 2.5-3 hours. I fed on demand since I was home. With Emilias crying I also didn't know if she was getting enough ounces of milk at first so we went to a lactation consultant and they had me weigh her before eating and then weigh her after and it gave a guide on how much she was drinking - which ended up being more than enough but also gave me a good idea on how much to give them in the pumped bottle if needed. I just don't remember how much it was back then. Your Dr should be able to tell you how many ounces is normal for their age.

Ah so precious! And that nursery is adorable!! We want to share a fun activity that we think your twins will love: singing and dancing along to Progressongs. Our songs are fun and educational as they teach children about diversity. Topics include diverse cultures, races, familial makeups, and LGBT+ representation. We hope you will join us!
