i was born and raised in london, and it's not as dreamy as people think but it a great city, so many opportunities and nice places to visit, and i've got to be grateful for the amount my parents sacrificed to come to this country!

That's what happened to me. Went on vacation, fell in love, applied to a masters course right after vacay and 6 weeks later, off I went. 😆 Definitely one of the most crazy and impulsive thing I ever did. And btw I have now been here 2 months, still love London but it was definitely more enjoyable as a tourist LOL.

Went to London for the first time earlier this month. What a wonderful city!!! I tour Buckingham palace, Kesington palace, the view from the Shard, piccadilly, took the tube, loved it!!!!

London is expensive, but in the last few years, places like Mt. View & Sunnyvale (silicon valley) has probably shot pass London. For lunch I can find decent places to eat around $12, but in the Silicon valley you'd be lucky to get away with $15. And even though the tube can be crowded, it's at least there. The public transportation here sucks. Although weather wise, this place is a lot better. In 2019, I think London hit a higher summer peak them than here! Whenever I go to the UK, I usually stay 2-3 days in London and then drive off to Cornwall. Now that's a place I'd love to stay long-term. All these years, I've never gotten tired of the Cornish countryside and way of life!

wow, I've commuted in New York during rush hour and the underground is far worse than the NYC subway. I don't know whether its because of the overcrowding in the streets but that was crazy.

Natasha J ...Certain tube stations do get very busy, but not all are like that one. Areas with very high volumes of commuting workers, tourists, and shoppers, all at the same times and station tend to get crowded. Also, I think public transport gets much higher usage in Europe, compared to, say, USA, apart from New York. Try getting on a sky train in Vancouver at rush hour....good luck with that!

Ditto the same feeling i encountered, i went to London to study.. and the moment i stepped my foot out of airport, i felt like i was Home.. Walking on the streets i felt like i already knew these places.. travelled across London without any A to Z.. or tube maps.. & Finally when i shifted.. Felt like i was Leaving Home..!! Strange.. !!

I LIVED IN LONDON FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS .YES IT IS A BIG, TOURISTIC AND BEAUTIFUL CITY BUT I AM A VERY COUNTRY SIDE PERSON SO IT WAS VERY CROWDED. POLLUTED AND STRESSFUL CITY FOR ME, THE UNDERGROUND AND TUBES WERE A REAL NIGHTMARE FOR ME "FIND THEM DIRTY " . Every company is different and every industry will differ. It’s a very old-fashioned way of thinking that long work hours or early starts equate to a more productive day. If the company encourages good time management and efficient working hours, it’s far better for an employee’s mental well-being and productivity to work in these working conditions over sticking to the old way of thinking of having to be the first there and last to go. That could suggest the need to have better prioritisation and management over your personal workload. Besides, a lot of people at the company also work when they’re home too outside of the hours in the office.

London is a really nice city! Please be careful at night time and rush hours tho. I myself don’t like going anywhere during rush hours because it can get really dangerous specially in central London.

I live in Seville atm as an English teacher. I left behind my marketing and communications career to take 6 months out and have ended up here for 3 years. Ahem. Now I wanna get back in the game and am considering London as I already know a few people and want a new adventure. A bit nervous as I hear a lot of negative stuff about the quality of life...though my friends seem to like it. Life in Seville is beautiful but unfortunately the pay sucks and I want to get my career back on track. Not sure who I'm talking to/at here lol.
