New sub here! Congrats on your journey to become a nurse. It’s an amazing career so stay focused and don’t stop. Will the journey be hard? Absolutely. Will there be tears on the journey? No doubt, but you got this. Nursing school is hard; harder than the NCLEX. You got this. Your inspiration is your son. I along with all nurses are at the finish line cheering you on. We can’t wait to see you. Oh! I’m in nephrology. So enjoy it. Oh! Don’t stop learning. Go for your MSN at least but don’t rule out DNP or PhD.

I don’t believe that you necessarily have to be the smartest person to become a medical assistant. However, I will say that you do have to have common sense. A lot of information that you learn is common sense. I know that the most math that you’re going to do it most likely dosage calculations, which is a part of going to school for MA, but I don’t remember having too many math questions on my certifying exam. I completed the CCMA through NHA-
