@@PaytonB we arent even allowed on the football field during practice. The dang girls soccer and boys soccer team take it on alternate days. Eh good thing i can still do punting without it on the practice field
Lee Watkins I feel that man, you just gotta be patient sometimes! the more you prove yourself in practice the more likely your coaches will trust you to kick in a game 👍🏼new video soon
Varsity doesn't have a kicker and they want me to do it, but I'm a soccer player and I don't even know how to put pads on lol. Plot twist: I'm only a freshman and after they saw me nail a 45-yarder first try they aren't leaving me alone.
Nice video! Even through the slumps remember to have fun with it and y'all will be good! One tip for holding though; ALWAYS hold with your back hand. So for lefty kickers that'd be your right hand and holding for righty kickers use your left!
I’m a junior in high school, but I’d like to be on the football team for one year. If I just started practicing kicking, do you think it would be possible to get good enough to try out senior year if I continued to practice a lot.
Jake Fan Absolutely! If you practice a few times a week every week from now until football season, you’ll be plenty good enough to make the team! good luck man and let me know how it goes
Hey bro, I'm way older than u. But, when I was in HS, as a junior soccer player, I was recruited to replace the placekicker who had graduated. I'd always kinda messed around kicking footballs, but soccer was my gig. Watching u guys out there, brought me back several decades, lol. Great vid, great vibe, can tell u guys are good peeps. Good luck to ya both, imagine u just graduated. I'm also big MLS guy, from day one, love what AUnited's done, in just the few short years they've been around. Again, great vid. That was a tough season all those years ago, but watching this vid, brings back nothing but good memories. Cheers.
This advice is from a special teams coordinator. I had my kickers do three one steps left hash-middle-right has. Then alternate days even and odd yards. Two kicks each left middle right starting at 10yd line-20-30-40 or 10-15-25-35-45- record on notepad g for good and x for miss. Try to think of why you missed and record this really helped on accuracy. Good luck, head down and follow through
what high school do u play for? i noticed the united hat and was wondering if ur high school is in georgia or if ur just wearing the hat. i’m currently in eighth grade and am going to try kicking next year.
It takes time and practice, but definitely give it a go man. It will be frustrating at first but you’ll quickly get the hang of it if you work every day , good luck!
I’m a kicker in middle school going to high school next year. I’m a good kicker I would say. I could make 40 yd field goals and could kick it to the end zone on kickoffs but are you ever stressed when kicking and any advice to deal with kicking stress because I have high standards.
Oliver J Oliver J it’s totally normal to be stressed with kicking and if you’re a good kicker than you’ll always have pressure on you. i totally get stressed but i just try to remember that one miss isn’t the end of the world. also remember that very few people can do what we do. if anyone’s ever pressuring you or stressing you out just know that they don’t know what it’s like to be in your shoes. goodluck man!
Work on your follow through, I get 2-3 yards when my kicking motion is done. Also your plant leg needs to be straight when you make contact with the ball, I struggle with this still, your leg isn't as bad as mine was but those are just some tips if you want them
I'm the first good kicker my team has had in a long time. And I still practice with the team and doing hitting circuits and stuff and I always run with the team these dude seem like they're having it easy tho😂
@@PaytonB We liked to play a game where you got points for hitting the uprights or crossbar. Got pretty good at it until I hit 3 straight uprights during drills the day before a game...coach said I wasn't allowed to play that game anymore. I love the sideline drill BTW. Good luck guys and keep working hard!!
Payton Kicks I start high school next year in Canada, in my first year of high school will there be a team (they are one of the best football high school in the country)
What do Jan Stenerud, Morten Andersen and Adam Vinatieri all have in common. Well, 2 are in the Hall of Fame and other will almost certainly go there as soon as he's eligible. The answer is...none of them used the plant-foot skip. Morten Andersen and Adam Vinatieri kicked well into the 21st century when the plant-foot skip was being taught at kicking camps and never felt the need to made the change. The Question: Is the plant-foot skip really needed? We know now that leg speed is the key to distance, it's time to rethink the plant-foot skip.
Dude I just saw this expecting some deep ass kicks or something nice but wow I’m thoroughly disappointed this was pretty shit I STAY kicking field goals from the 50-60
Weak. One step gone get rid of it. Hat on your head off. You cant kick. Give up. Wheres your coach? Why didnt you stretch? Wheres your team? What are you aiming for? Make me look stupid with your kicks. Forget your 3 back 2 over just get comfortable try that for a change.
