Girl! I’m currently a leasing manager and I’ve been in the industry for 2+ years. EVERYTHING you said is beyond true especially the importance of work/life balance. I used to be extremely stressed and I still have my moments but I’m finally working towards developing a healthy balance!

A great video idea would be how you conduct your tours, and also what you do for new residents after they move in, what do you do for prospects that decide to not move in. Could you make a video on the process of becoming a leasing agent such as fees or licensing required? I’ve been searching for videos and I do not see any that talks about pay etc. I do know that you have to get a fair housing certification but is that all you pay for? Sorry I’m so curious. Thanks. Your videos are awesome btw.

Ironically, I wasn’t required to obtain any certifications or licenses - I got hired b/c I had sales experience and they offered extensive training, but this may also be to the discretion of the management group. There’s definitely been a shift in the workforce since the pandemic and these days if you’re like-able/coachable, they’re more inclined to hire you. I’m not sure what state you live in, but if you’re interested in property management, I’d say apply to a few jobs and see what feedback you get..and you can always use my videos as a reference 🖤

Great question! The company that I work for did conduct a credit/background check but as long as you don’t pose as a potential liability you should be fine.
