Hi Sammy - I actually studied Law but while I was at school and between sixth form and Uni I did a lot of volunteer journalism in fashion & got to know some marketing skills through that, such as social media & copy writing. I would suggest a degree isn't the best way to get into marketing. There's lots of free training from HubSpot and Google, and I would prioritise work experience over everything else. Ask small local businesses if you can run a marketing project for them for free and put it in a portfolio. There's definitely a lot of event/marketing cross over, I would look for 'experiential/event' agencies that work with brands you really like and see if you could do some work experience - that way you will be able to see the variety of roles within an agency and these are skills you can also take in-house/ into a brand too :) Good luck!
