Ok so I am a Handcyclist paralysed from the chest down I was out training one day in Warrandyte and while descending I clipped a roundabout and stacked it. A car pulls up and this woman yells out don’t move!!! I reply casually don’t worry I’m already paralysed. The look on her face 🤣 🤞 hopefully get those sunnies.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NIV‬ ROMANS 10:9-11 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame” Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:10‬ ‭ God wants us to believe in His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who died for our sins :D When we truly believe in our hearts that Jesus is the Son of God, who died for our sins so we could have eternal life with God, we are saved from the eternal fire and have eternal life in Christ Jesus!! 💖 May God bless you all! 🕊😊

Class video mate! Have a question about your nutrition. How do you make sure you get enough fuel in pre and post training without also consuming too much so that you still stay lean. Do you have any tips on what the best way to go about it is?

Great video, love the insights into a pro cyclist's daily life. For my funniest story: Probably my funniest but also scariest moment on my road bike. I was riding in the French Alps, after a climb I was descending this nice road when suddenly I miss calculated a hard left turn, with some gravel on the outside of the turn, hit the rear brake a bit too hard which caused the rear wheel to block, I went into and over the barrier, saw my bike fly over me in the air, landed on my back and my bike went down into the ravine. I was in a bit of a shock and started looking for my bike from up the road. I literally thought I was never going to see my bike again. A lovely couple stopped with their car and helped me look with binoculars. The lady saw the bike in some bushes about 30-40m lower. I had my wife, father, 2 brothers and a friend come up with the car and some ropes. I managed to rappel down the hill, found my bike intact, and carried it back up (which was a lot of fun actually). The bike had not a single scratch, I had some bruises on my right leg (from the impact of the barrier) and my back (from the impact with the ground), but nothing too serious. I rode a 160km, 3500m vert ride (boucle de Izoard) the next day. I had a good guardian angel that day.

Thanks for the insight Harry! Really interesting and appreciated. Edit - Funniest Cycling story: I take off the front wheel of my bike to mount it on the car and one day when meeting up with a mate (that lives in another city) for a ride I didn't realize I left the wheel in the garage until I got to his house. No riding got accomplished but we sure laughed for a while. Had some beers instead. PS I don't think it's best for people to leave their e-mails here for privacy reasons.

One of my craziest cycling story's was back in 1992 when me and my friend were in Switzerland. We had trained all day in the alps around 6 hours of climbing and when we got to our camping ground everything was closed and we couldn't eat that night. We just had a little childs box of frosted flakes that we shared. The worse part was yet to come when a big rain storm snapped our tent and we had to sleep holding it over our heads all night.Didnt seem funny then but boy it does now. What a night.ha ha kelp up the great work out there.Cheers

Wow! You really stepped up the production quality in a big way! Great video - your best by far. Looking forward to more! Not too long after I met my girlfriend in university, I stopped to say hi to her while she was in between classes and I was out for a ride. I had just started rolling on the bike to head home when I realized the strap on my helmet was unbuckled right as I was clipping in to the pedals. So I took both hands off the bars to do it up... The combination of clipping in, both hands up and off the bars, and very low speed resulted in a total loss of control. The bars swung hard left swinging the bike out from under me - I put my right hand out as I was about to go over the bars and it contacted my front tire with my whole bodyweight behind it - and BANG!! The force of the impact caused the tube in my front tire to explode, the pressure wave causing it to tear in half. I tumbled with the bike into the grass off the road - very smoothly I must say - not a scratch on me or the bike! But she nearly asphyxiated from laughing. I couldn't walk the rest of the way home in my shoes with the road cleats - so I carried my bike and shoes the whole way back home barefoot.

G’day Harry.. my funniest cycling day was with one of my best mates …. We decided to ride the back of the Sunshine Coast hinterland near Mooloolaba/QLD. We did a bit of climbing and got to a cafe in Montville, and while standing in the queue an elderly lady asked my mate and I to take our time as she was admiring our shaved legs…. Could not believe it, very funny, she was very cool, and we headed off with a smile on our faces… cheers, Rob. Ps. Best of luck for next season…..👍

My funniest story still has potential for expansion. But as a beginner it's a good start to keep your feet on the ground. Literally. Motivated, I packed my things, with my father and neighbors in front of the door, to finally start the first lap after months of looking for the right bike. With click shoes. Unfortunately with click shoes, because I had my first fall in front of my audience when I started for the first time. I survived intact, but my handlebars only survived with a bend. Nevertheless, I like the start of my road bike journey. I drive almost every day now and it's wonderful. 204cm on a bike certainly looks just as great.

Hi Harry, love you channel! I once left the house in a rush for a 530am winter club ride thinking my alarm to wake up had just gone off, I got to the meeting spot 20 mins away and realized it was 230am! I guess I had dreamt my alarm going off or something, I didn't check the time when I was riding or leaving the house because if I missed the group rolling out I would just do my own route. I ended up just riding back home to try and get some sleep and felt like a zombie the next day getting up

I actually asked the Q about Code Browns you passed on to Matteo, mostly because I continue to suffer from PTSD for a similar incident. Back in March I got out to the Lighthouse in Pollenca when a sudden wave of dread came over me. It's off-season so the cafés closed, but there are too many cyclists about and not enough bush to go for a wild deuce. Queue the slowest, most horrific ride back to Port du Pollenca where I had to keep stopping on the climbs and descents just to clench. The scenes when I got to Tollos was one of utter relief and joy as the demons left my body. Anyway, it was good to hear you guys go through similar pains, even in RBX. HMU if you need my email. Keep up the vlogs, they're epic 💩

My funniest cycling story was when 3 of my friends and I went on a ride that (I think) was about 120km. I had the most miles in my legs, and my friends all bonked halfway through the ride. We found a convenience store, fueled up, and then I pulled them for about 20km - one hanging on to my seat post, another hanging on to his seat post, and the last hanging on to his. Made it back okay. Be sure to fuel correctly for your rides.

Great video! Funny cycling story. When I first started riding I was convinced riding on the exercise bike in the gym was equivalent to riding outside. My friend who raced just laughed and said get your rode bike and join our group ride. Since he was merciful he said he would get one of the girls who rode to keep an eye on me to which I said I wouldn't need it. Since it was an out of state ride for me, he also said that I should follow the last person if I got in trouble. The group ride was just one group of riders at all levels from racers to weekend warriors. As the warm up phase began I hung tough for a couple of minutes but started drifting farther back. Then when i was near the back, I told myself to relax and just follow the last guy. As I turned around to see who was behind me, in shock I realized I was the last guy and the pack was pulling away! I dug deep to catch back up and hit a rut in the road and when down! With ripped shorts and a bruised ego, I got back up and set off not knowing where I was going because I was an out of towner and had only driven the roads with my friend a couple of times. I didn't have a phone on me so couldn't call and I was in a very affluent suburb, so didn't feel comfortable to just rolling up to someone's multi million dollar front door! Long story short, I rode around for a while and found some streets I recognized and found my way back to the ride start about an hour after everyone else had finished. My friend was there waiting for me with food and a drink and a smile on his face. He just said he had faith I would finally make my way back! I shook my head and said this is nothing like riding the bike in the gym, once again he just laughed.

Awesome video! love all the great drone footage and your cooking is the best!I liked seeing your pre-ride exercises too - thanks for including those. My funniest cycling story was when I went on a cycling trip to Riccione Italy in May of 2019. Had been training hard all Winter on on the indoor trainer (I live in Canada) and I decided to bring my own bike. I forgot to check the gears after taking it off the trainer and when we started climbing I found I couldn't use my lower gears without them skipping so not wanting to be left behind I had to climb for many kilometers in a massive gear! Ugh! When we reached the top and stopped at the hilltop cafe I needed to use the loo and was greeted with a hole in the floor! Ack! I couldn't even squat down with my legs so pumped up from that effort. I came out laughing so hard - joined my group at some tables, had an espresso and then tried again 15 minutes later when my legs recovered.

My funniest story has some seriousness in it, but in the end it is all good. I was on vacation on crete and had an accident, where i broke the head of my femur. I just slipped the front wheel in a tight serpentine downhill and fell quite hard on the side. When I had the surgery down there in crete (3 screws), i fell in love with the anesthetist. 4 months later i flew back down to see her again and we spend some very nice weeks together! Thanks for your videos and all the insights of a pro cyclist life.

Loving the content as someone thats still just getting more into cycling! Best story I have is from my third date with my cyclist partner, we were meant to go for 30km, myself in some standard shorts and a baggy gym tshirt. We bumped into her friends at the bottom of a hill. 60kms of hills later I collapsed on her couch, couldn't even bring myself to ride the 3km home. Two years later and we're still going strong, she hates chasing me up hills now 😅

I have really enjoyed your videos and the insight they bring… my funny story actually happened shortly after watching this video!! I like in a rural part of the UK, went out for a beautiful ride around some small English villages - my mate and I just went full effort on a segment, finished feeling fairly blown only to turn around and see a couple casually walking their alpacas and dogs along the pavement…. This is not the norm where I live… what made it funnier was the fact the alpaca was groomed to look like a poodle!! Not what I expected to see at the end of my ride!! Thank you for the chance to participate in your giveaway!

Great video as always, appreciate an opportunity to get a glimpse of a pro's daily life. :P My funniest cycling story was probably when 5 other guys and I decided to go on our first ever training camp in Spain this February. All of us been saving money for it like 4-5 months before the deed. One of our friends is a ridiculous guy and keeps finding himself in comedic situations so we expected something from him. So we finally arrive at our place in Spain, our bikes were sent via bus here and we start to assemble them, we are like 3 hours into our training camp/vacation and our friend forgot to pack his seatpost. On the first day, he rented a bike which of course was too small for him and spent 3 days riding it before other guys from our country flew over and brought him a new seatpost from a shop. Once again, it was not compatible so he was stuck with a rented bike for another 2 days, by this time rented bikes saddle or bibs gave him such nasty blisters, he was unable to stay seated anymore. After more than a week, he found his original seatpost in a bag stuck deep into a bike's luggage box, put it on hoping to at least finish the last 3 days of a camp comfortably, but was unable to continue due to his blisters problem and spent last days cooking meals for other guys and downing beers. Great guy, really optimistic, made everyone's trip even more memorable. When asked if he would repeat the training camp, he didn't even stutter. Can't wait to see how he will top this off next year. viktmedu@gmail.com , cheers ✌

One of the funniest times on the bike was when I went bikepacking in West Cork, Ireland. It had rained so hard the national roads had all closed, but we pushed on regardless. It had been really clear and even sunny, but on our return leg to Clonakilty, the clouds literally burst, and water got into every crevice, bag and with every peddle stroke water sloshed out of our shoes. On arrival in Clon, we hit up a hotel with fire outside and the proprietor felt so bad she gave us a room for a hot shower and to change. Ended up jacking in the camping and using it as a home base. Still took 2 days for our stuff to dry!

Love the quality of your videos. It’s always nice to see people to put this much effort to their life, fill every minutes of it working, learning and pushing theirselves to the limits. Also my funniest story is from back when i completed some of my first rides ever. Im still not much of a pro but back then everything was surprising. I came down on a small hill (actually pretty fast for me in general) and a group of old women was coming towards me taking away all the road. Man, i was very scared, but i saved it pretty well and i didnt crash into anyone. Im still grateful for it!!

Funniest story was when my boyfriend went out cycling with his friends, early on in his cycling "career", into Kent, south of London. He reliably tells me he 'bonked' that day, in an attempt to offer some explanation for when I returned home to find him lying on the sofa post ride surrounded by countless cans of coca-cola, ice cream tubs, and other treats. It took him.a couple days to return to normal and trying to watch him get through the rest of the day with zero energy was a giggle. He's always making me watch your videos and is a big fan of the Lotto team so I know he'd love a pair of team sunnies!

Love your content, keep it coming, please! Every summer, I used to go on a little adventure with my father. We would go hike in Corsica or take our bikes to the Mont Ventoux, ... One time we decided to stay in our own country (Belgium). We set out to bike from Leuven to the seaside. We didn't have a smartphone or bike gps back then, so we printed a route from google maps. After an hour or so we already had to improvise because according to our print, we had to go on a highway (cars only). That was only the beginning of a few disasters. At some point, one of my (flat) pedals got loose. I had lost the bolt and I had to go on for a few km with only one pedal. Luckily a kind stranger could fix me up with a spare bolt from an old bike in his garage. My father also fell into a small brook on one of our breaks. It was full of plants, so for a moment I couldn't see him or his bike. We arrived to our destination way later than expected but we had so much fun.

My funniest cycling story. Years ago went for an early morning ride, just a quite one not much traffic as it was a Sunday morning anyway turned down this street and came to a stop sign before making the right hand turn to go over the bridge, but at that moment forgot to unclip and embarrassingly fell in one smooth motion onto the road still holding the handle bars, unbeknown to me there at that precise moment a group ride turned into the same street and saw the whole thing, heaps of guys where laughing as they went not to mention some hilarious comments. There timing was perfect, and I got a laugh out of it as well. PS absolutely loved your post.

Solid day! My funniest cycling story happen 20 yrs ago, on a training ride. I ran out of power bars as a teen, I was racing mtb. So I ended up bringing m and m’s and resees… a lot of them.. it was a 4 hr ride and I was with an older group of guys. They all laughed as I ate the candy.. about halfway through the ride I totally bonked. Was laying on the ground wishing I was sleeping at home… I ate some more candy as the guys passed and about 30 min later I surged to the front again.. this happened about 3 times this ride and I got coined the name “wonderboy” it has stuck to this day. Although I don’t bring loads candy anymore…

Great video. My funny story starts with with a Saturday ride with my local club in Oklahoma. Out in the country side 30 miles from home, a dog runs into the group. I’m the lucky guy that the dog took down. I’m spread out in the middle of the road looking up and a dozen riders looking down at me. I’m dazed, confused, and feel something wet on my face. I then realize the dog is laying next to me leaking my face. No way I could get mad at that dog. I still have the photo of that. Against the recommendations of my friends, I elected to ride 30 miles back home with two friends who kept watch on me. Turns out I had a concussion but I made a new friend who licked me in the face. I spent three days out of commission. Not all dogs are bad news for bike riders. Cheers.

Thanks for all the insight Harry. The quality and editing of your videos is top notch.. very entertaining. You’ve definitely inspired me to start cooking from scratch more often and I’ve been enjoying it! My funniest cycling story would have to be a group ride with my rowing friends! One lad wasn’t a cyclist and asked if he could ride with his mountain bike.. we said yes and decided to roll with it. I wasn’t optimistic when he showed up with a beat up bike, flat pedals, casual clothes and a drawstring backpack 🫠 . After the first climb (1km at 9%) he was distanced pretty good. That trend continued for the next 15-20km… i ended up leaving the main group with another to draft him back, which I wasn’t thrilled about. However, shortly after he made it back, he started getting in a groove.. he would pedal extremely fast then take a break when he legs couldn’t keep up with the cadence! He held the wheel okay but I wouldn’t recommend sitting behind him!Eventually we made it to that first climb to make our descent... and this dude took off! He BOMBED that descent and nearly touched 80km/hr! For the rest of the season he would ask us when we were going out and if we were doing that climb… he loved it! My email is thorpee30@hotmail.com should I win! Others feel free to use it if you’re in the Kingston area this fall. :)

Great video Harry thanks for the insight. My most embarrassing cycling story is turning up to a crit with a puncture then crashing on the first switch back, not fun. Was 19 and a beginner at this point though so a learning curve🤪

Bike packing with the boys earlier this June though Belgium and France was pretty chronic. Chucked the bikes over the fence for a lap of Roubaix velo in the dark. Thought you know what it's now or never, whipped the wee guy out to give the track a power clean. Inadvertently started to lube my cleats up mid-stream thanks to the camber, lost purchase on the slope and faceplanted my own piss Saw one of your team cars somewhere outside Lille, Lotto fan for life now atb Harry! vids are sick

I really enjoyed the video, first time watching you. My cycling story. I was in a gravel race in Washington State USA,in the break off the front. Everything was going good, then I started to feel a little sprinkle. I thought, odd there isn’t a cloud in the sky. It was the rider in front of me,he decided to take a wee while on the bike in the bunch! Granted he was near the right edge of the road.I managed to avoid it by moving left when I realized what was going on. Keep the great videos coming!

Superb video, love your content. My funniest cycling story is when I was going to collide with a dog walker and the dog, realising I had not got enough time on brakes I aimed for the bushes. Went head first into bushes only to realise they were stinging nettles over a metal fence!

What a routine, but also, what kind of views around there! Stunning, and I know for myself, very motivating to just keep pushing! My funniest story has to do with my first fall when not being able to unclip. Imagine me, a somewhat fat 40-year old climbing Ventoux. Last remaining 400 meters, after the last photographer, I realize I just cannot go on. Stop for a sec, drink some more water, and when I start climbing again, clip in, but realize that didn’t too late, cannot gain speed, start falling, cannot clip out, and just fall flat. Super stupid, rear derailleur is somewhat screwed, but continue, climb last few meters up and take a selfie up there.

Story: As a 9 year old cycling fan I went cycling with my dad, on my first racing bike. Along the way I managed to get in the gutter next to the road. Me thinking I was like Tom Boonen in E3 2006 on the Paterberg (hopping out the gutter to follow Ballans attack), I tried hopping out... and fell hard. I bursted out in tears and my knee was covered in blood, but we still continued our ride home. Not much later on the way, while I was still crying on the bike, I saw some girls coming from afar. The sign for me to get myself togheter; stopped crying, sat upright and upped the tempo... Maybe not a very funny story, but one I keep remembering for over 15 years now :)

The coast looks amazing. Guess you could always open a restaurant after you retire. Thanks for adding the core exercises pre-ride. Not a funny story, but caught a pedal on a mtn bike ride early summer, went down hard and fractured my clavicle. Fortunate to have surgery to repair, as I was back on the gravel and road bike 4 weeks later. Delayed my summer training, but all was not lost. Thanks for the content and production quality.

Really appreciate these videos, they give such a wonderful insight into what it's like to be a pro. Anyways my funniest cycling story: When I forget, my grandfather puts my bike in the car when we go to school so I can ride back home afterwards. He has the tendency to forget things, so naturally, as he is taking out the front wheel to put the rest of the bike in the trunk, he forgets to put the front wheel as well in the car. We arrive at school, I open the trunk, take the bike out, no front wheel, damn it! Since he has forgotten my front wheel three times at that point already and because I wouldn't be able to get home, I get upset at him. He apologises and we all start thinking of solutions to get me home. A couple of minutes later he yells: 'Ah I've got it! Just wheelie home!'. Because I felt like he wasn't taking the problem seriously, I got even more annoyed and told him to shut up. At that point he said to hand over the bike, so I did. He swings his leg over, and the almost 80 year-old man actually popped a wheelie for a good couple of metres (after which I did have to help him get off without trashing my fork)! This definetely lightened the mood and we all got home safely!

Hi Harry. I just discovered your channel and will now binge watch previous episodes. I look forward to your future posts. My funny story involves a kookaburra and a snake! While riding along a narrow section of the Fernleigh Track in Newcastle, Australia I noticed what looked like a bird foraging in the scrub beside the track. I was ten metres from the bird and travelling at about 25 kph. I must have startled it and it took flight, heading straight towards me carrying a red belly black snake in its beak! Well, those snakes a really dangerous and instant panic set in! I ducked my head and felt the tail of the snake glance my helmet. Next moment I’m out of control and heading for the bushes on the other side of the track! Fortunately I regained control of the bike and regained my composure. There were two walkers approaching from the other direction who saw the whole thing. They laughed and thought the whole episode was hilarious - I didn’t, but it’s a good cycling story.

I have just this week come back from Mallorca, we hired a couple of bikes and we were blown away by how smooth the roads were (compared to London), how beautiful it was to cycle around Pollensa town and port. Some good hill climbs around the area too. Almost went over my handlebars when I was coming down the first decent as the breaks are swapped around there, so the left break was the front instead of the right. Wish the guy we hired the bikes off of would have warned us ha. We will be back there!!

Funniest story: On my first ever group ride and had switched out my father-in-laws pedals for some flat ones as I didn't have cycling shoes. In my excitement I must not have threaded them right cuz half way through the ride at literally the furthest point the right pedal fell out having dethreaded the crank. One old gear head on the ride helped me reverse thread it by force so I could get home. Jankiest feeling pedal I've ever ridden on. Didn't get to do the ride, ruined his ride by sticking with me, and still haven't used that bike since as there were no replacement parts during covid.

Great vid. Still plenty of KOMs with your name on them around Bris-Vegas! Best story I have is a bunch of us doing a 200km ride and many trying chamois cream for the first time. Early morning in the dark and one of the guys handed the other some deep heat instead of chamois cream. Wasn’t until a few mins later he realised the burning wasn’t actually normal. Suffice to say, he had a very long hot day in the saddle.

Love these videos. Nice car too. For the story you asked for: when I was 16 I figured doing a solo ~180km ride in Austria with 3300m of elevation would be a good idea. Factor in a heatwave and you have me crawling up the last climb asking my granddad to come pick me up

My funniest story would be about a year ago, when a friend and I decided to ride our roughly 90 mile cross training session at four in the morning. We live in the north, and it was almost winter, so it was super dark outside, and the sun would not rise until around nine. You could barely see your own hands, and somehow we made it almost twenty miles before I started feeling weird and decided to stop for a second. I could not figure out what was wrong, and kept thinking I had forgot something, until my friend swung his handle bar light beam over me and immediately yelled “dude where is your helmet?!” Turns out bleary and tired me that morning had forgot to put my helmet on and road twenty miles before realizing something was wrong. I was absolutely mollified and felt so stupid. To this day whenever we go riding my friend jokingly hits me on the head with the excuse of making sure I have a helmet.

Funny cycle story: Years ago, one of my homies did a fixed gear alley cat. There were 8 checkpoints. Every checkpoint you had to chug a beer before you could leave. Thats 8 cans chugged with a lot of sprints in between. He'd puked so much that his teeth were gleaming white from the bile and was so dehydrated that he looked shredded.
