team label everything for life. as an RA in a neuro lab, so much of this is relatable, especially having to backtrack to another building to get my backpack

What exactly do you do in a neuro lab? I'm thinking about going into neuroscience as a career
@brialeixx
@brialeixx 3 месяца назад
@@FrankyMarquez-sb9ni I’m not in neurolab so I know that it’s a large research field. There are so many areas you can focus in. For example, J work in physiology but we focus on metabolism :)

That was actually a really cool video. I’m sure you know this but practice makes “perfect”. Don’t beat yourself up too much. You have to fail to learn! Keep the videos coming!!

I loved this video! I go to a research-based university and unlike most of my peers, I have NO lab experience. I'm trying to get more involved with research on campus. This video definitely motivated me a bit more and honestly is making me even more excited to get into a lab!

Thank you for sharing your experience! I am a senior biology major in florida. I am currently looking for a research assistant position but I dont know how to grab the recruiters attention. I have been rejected from a few research places. Could you share some tips???
@brialeixx

And thank YOU for watching! If you are currently a biology major, try talking to your professors first. Many professors have research labs or know someone who has a research lab. It’s important to read about each professor’s studies before deciding on one. Every professor is looking for something different, so I can’t exactly say what would help you. For me, my experience as a mentor and in customer service was interesting to my professor. I’m also premed and he likes to train students. It all depends on the professor. Just keep trying and don’t feel discouraged. Good luck!

Im studying biology at university atm as an undergrad, do you have any advice on how to gain some lab experience as everywhere seems to want post grad students or previous experience (im based in the UK). Loved the video, gave a real insight into the role and showed people like myself what the role/field is actually like. Found it super helpful :)
@brialeixx
@brialeixx Месяц назад
@@GraceLudlam-g7w Hi!! I would definitely start looking within your university. Most professors have research in additional to teaching. That’s how I got my first experience with research. As students are graduating, labs need more students! If you can’t find anything, start looking at your local medical schools or other universities in the area. Best of luck! ☺️

@brialeixx
@brialeixx 6 месяцев назад
Hi!! I’m glad you found the video helpful! You don’t have to be good at bio necessarily to be a researcher, you just have to be willing to learn. I can’t speak for all labs, but in my lab, I learned a lot just being on the job. My professor teaches us some biology as we are learning research techniques. And when you go to graduate school for research, they’ll teach you everything you need to know!

For my specific position, they required a Bachelor of Science in Biology or Chemistry. No other certification was required. I will say though that all positions are different! Good luck!!
