I absolutely love this!! As a black girl who’s a senior in high school looking to go into the athletic training field I’m so encouraged to see girls and women of color like myself in the field! Thank you for this!
Was a student athletic trainer for two years in high school and it is work! You really have to enjoy it and work hard! I had to quit after my sophomore year due to family issues and not being able take class I really wanted. I miss it, but it wasn't in my career path. Made great memories. Football season was the best!
Omg im an Athletic Trainer(student) here in California and everyone is like “oh you get to slack off all day since you dont have to take ‘real’ classes” im like dude I work from 1-6pm this is NOT easy. There are sadly only 3 of us AT students(1 doctor and 1 official trainer as well) at my school so we do almost all the work for every sport but bc people only see us fill ice and water they think we dont do much.
What school do you go to because I already have experience from my AT and team doctor who let me intern:) and I really want to pursue this major in College
love this video!! i’ve been kinda in between nursing and kinesiology, but i wanted to do something with sports. it’s cool to hear that your friend is a kinesiology/pre-need major!!
It's awesome because I finished up my football camp rotation and my first MSAT semester on Aug 20(10days ago) and it's a lot more work than people realize. Given, I'm at UW Madison and they have hydration students that primarily take care of field setup and whatnot. But it's hard trying to watch over 110 players even when you have an army of people with you because of having to refill water/gatorade/etc I start my first loaded semester in a week and I can't wait for it!
Im so glad I found this video because I want to be an athletic trainer. Hopefully when I transfer to the school I want to go to i can be an student athletic trainer to get some experience. Keep up the good work😁👏🏾
Thanks for filming. I graduated Hampton University back in the day. But I love to see My Home By The See on RU-vid. Sending love from NYC. I see you Riah!!
yeo this is a SMALL WORLD !! I saw one of my old neighbors in this video lmaoo ( he was the one talking about why y’all have to check in weights before and after practice). Lmaooo that’s crazy
Go head! I’m pressed I found your channel. I’m taking the BOC in May, this my last year in my masters program for athletic training 💯 so proud to see a sista !
I'm so glad That I found this My Daughter is currently volunteering at her high school here in Rva. I just followed you on Ig and will be showing her your videos.
Awesome video on the days of AT students! Ultra sound actually uses acoustic waves to generate heat into the tissue, not radioactive. Keep up the good work!
I really enjoyed your video. I am a sophomore kinesiology major at Hampton University. In terms of how you were able to become a student AT, could you possibly explain how you went about getting the position?
Thank you! And yes my freshman year I saw a post that they were looking for people and I went to go sign up. It was a little bit easier when I was a freshman than now to join. But if you still want to join I can try to help you get a position with working with athletes. Only thing is we have a waiting list right now.
I graduated in 2017 and didn’t know what I wanted to do . I’m 23 and going to a university next month for athletic training and I’m so nervous but excited at the same time 😭
So I’m bout to be a high school senior athletic trainer in Texas and I’m lookin to be an athletic trainer in college cause I like the work even though I want to choke out the boys during football but I enjoy being a trainer
I started it once I graduated high school because I knew that I didn’t want to do college sports. But I still kinda wanted to be involved. It would be great for you to start in high school tho. You get a good head start
Idk if I wanna switch to nursing or athletic training major help 😫 I’m interested in the learning of both but I want a pretty balanced lifestyle so I have time for other passions of mine so I might have to choose nursing idkk
