Fantastic video! My compliments. I had the very good fortune to meet Borja a few times when he was the bus driver of Euskaltel-Euskadi when the team raced in the Rome area. He was always, always, always very kind to me, which is something I dearly appreciated. He showed me around on the bus, which for a cycling fan is a magical moment. I saw how hard he worked for the benefit of the riders and the staff. I will never forget the moments I spent with the Euskaltel-Euskadi team, and Borja is one of the reasons for these memorable moments. I love all of these behind the scenes videos with everyone across the entire EF teams. It gives us all a greater understanding of what being part of a world tour team is like.
Questions for chef Owen: 1) Is there a hack you have to make the "fuel-only rice" nicer for the riders or is it the other meals and sides to spice things up? 2) I know you have to stick to the nutritionist's data but do you manage to sneak in a treat here and there for the guys? To give a boost of simple joy.. I imagine coming back to a freshly cooked and hot meal is a bliss after a TdF day in itself, but still I wonder how much (creative) freedom do you have. Or like if possible going the extra mile for one of the team knowing he loves a certain thing or dish. 3) what is your personal favourite full menu (salad, soup, main, desert..) put together off all of the dishes of the meal plan for the TdF list! 4) what is the most useful hack/pro tip you use cooking on tour? What a great and fine person this man is - love his story and his passion! So heart warming how happy he was happy and proud when the team and Richie got the yellow jersey :) thanks for this lovely and entertaining video!
