I just realized how small your channel is... thanks for these free videos! it's so helpful I'm a high school student looking for what to apply for Math has always been cool to me, and I like applied work more than theoretical, so actuarial sciences has been really attractive your videos helped a lot in making this decision
Keiana, thanks so much for this day in the life video! It's great to know that advanced programming skills are not necessarily required for an actuarial position because I'm not so confident in my coding abilities. Also found out about your channel from this video and the content on it is awesome!
Thanks!!! i am my second year studying actuary here in Argentina, in the future i want to live in Canadá. i love your videos. U are so helpful. keep going! u are the best. THANKS AGAIN! and thanks Keiana for your time to do this video!
Hey, I'm in college to be an actuary right now and I'm the president of the SIAM chapter at my school, and we were trying to think of someone to have as a speaker, and I thought it would be really cool if you came in through zoom to talk to us. Let me know if you're interested, thanks!
1.)A lot of Excel & Microsoft office n Access (very lil) 2.)IFRS-17: Accounting standard; reporting certain #s & information; preparing models & software. 3.)Training sessions. 4.)independent job. 5.)half/half (independently n team) 6.)ask questions (not too much); good to figure out yourself. 7.)summarize my thoughts, understand what I’m doing; information
I am planing to find an internship related to actuarial science. Your channel is very very helpful and your videos are of very high quality, which gave me many practical knowledges. Thanks a lot :D
So glad this video was helpful for you! I'll definitely pass on the feedback to Keiana too :) If you have any more questions about becoming an actuary, don't hesitate to reach out! :D

Hi.. thank you so much for the video. I wanted to find out from Kiena if she is already done with all of those actuarial exams, or she got a job with just her degree... And if you are done with your exams, are they manageable?
Hi Chifuno! You'll need to pass 1-3 exams to get an entry-level job. After that, you'll usually continue passing exams while working until you become fully qualified. The exams are difficult, but they're totally doable as long as you approach them with good study materials and a good study strategy!
Ooh interesting! That's a great answer, then you get a good split between peaceful time working alone and more collaborative work. Thanks for sharing! 😊
Yeah, it's pretty common for employers to request, R, SQL, or python. But that doesn't mean you necessarily need to know ALL of them! And it's much easier to pick up other programming languages once you've learned one. I'd recommend checking out this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rnUN_I0S14Y.html Hope this helps! :D
as u said u had around 100000$ salary package in ur last job.. I dont understand y u left job and start a youtube channel, selling a paid services in it??. All these u could have done easily with ur job on.. Feedback: adding linked profile of people who u interview as succesful actuary would make it more complete.
Hi there! I loved being an actuary, but I also saw how incredibly difficult it is for future actuaries to get into the career. I saw an opportunity to help people get into a career they could really love, and now I get to do that full-time! :) Thank you for the feedback!
