Hey y’all! I hope you’re having a fantastic Tuesday! I’m finally uploaded another EMS vlog for allllll of you guys who requested it! Hope you enjoy 😇 Follow me @speak_lifeee Station: Rescue 2 or Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad
Everyone your age: staying home hitting the bong , sleeping in. You: graduated , on the job , making horchata , monitizing youtube, saving lives. Seriously .. #respect
Not everyone gets out of highschool and wants to commit to something right away and possibly go into debt after getting out of college and getting a job you don’t want as a career. People need at least 2-3 years to figure out what they want to do.
@@escapethefateA7X Not really. It’s called being responsible before throwing yourself into a predicament you can barely get out of. I know way too many people who went to college and got out and got a job but regretted everything and wished they waited before jumping into something.
I start my EMT classes in the fall but watching your vlogs makes me so excited to start! Do you volunteer there or work there. Sorry I didn't understand just that part. Thank you Debbie
My sister just passed the NREMT exam on her first try! She studied really hard and dedicated a lot of time to it so if anyone is worried it’s all about dedication and practice, the little things helped her pass the test, you guys got this!!
@@RSR8485 depressing... in NY for a FDNY EMT pay is around $33000 a yr. Going into the field you are told it's not about the pay and that is most definitely true.
It’s not just that people learn a lot, you’re good at showing a lot, like a LOT - and many dimensions of it! But not overwhelming. Your EMS vlogs are really very professional! If you haven’t done one, maybe where you talk about where this is all going for you like your plans and such, thanks!
Just finished paramedic school in Canada in September! Only thing stopping me from graduating is 3 months of ride alongs! Ofcourse covid is bad here and no service is accepting students right now 😭😭 please do more of these videos!! There is not enough EMT/Paramedic vlog content on RU-vid!!
Yas girl this honestly motivates me and makes me so happy so much we will talk down on us but you are super beautiful super talented and really motivated me to get my ass back in school last year was pretty rough for me this video means everything we really appreciate you I hope you have a happy new year sis🥰💞🥳
Im halfway thru my EMT training and will be both taking the NREMT exam and graduating from high school in May. I'm soo excited but at the same time feel like I'm too stupid to be in the class let alone get certified
nah, you can do it the NREMT is the hardest part of the certification. Once you do that you're home free. IM now in medic school and work as an EMT in Boston. Put in the time to study. Use EMT PASS app to study it saved my butt. Also look into The Paramedic Coach on RU-vid he's really helpful for BLS Studying
@@amandajacobo3582 It depends.. I was able to take my EMT course my senior year in high school but the health/medical classes started since i was a freshman. Some school districts offer a variety of courses in the medical field. For example my school district offers Pharmacy tech, Nurses Assistant and EMT. But it all depends on what your school offers. Some students were able to test for the NREMT because the were already 18 during their senior year others had to wait until they turned 18 to be able to test. I know some community colleges offer the course but i believe you must be a graduate from high school in order to take the course.
I qualified as an EMT through the military in the UK, now I'm looking forward to starting my career as an EMT transitioning to paramedic within the NHS starting as of next month! Keep up the amazing work and stay safe!
This is my last year of college and I am pursuing the career of Firefighter//Paramedic. Right im going to start my EMT classes on Monday and seeing this kind of videos it gets me so pump for classes, and also knowing that I am going to be helping out people or saving lives it has to be a good feeling 🔥😄. Respect for everybody that are studying to be an First responder. 🔥🙏🏽
When I was 18 I had no clue what I wanted to do so I went to school to try and be an EMT... I did a really short program and did not realize HOW HARD studying every week for whatever system we were assigned was. I ended up dropping out halfway through. One thing I continue to keep with me would be how HARD EMTs work. I miss the ride alongs but I remember going on my first one and realizing I could not be responsible for someone's life under pressure. LMFAO. Maybe one day I'll go back.
Right now I’m going to be on my last year of high school but I decided that for my future I’m going to become a EMT so I’m going to college for these classes after I graduate high school😊
I highly considered being a emt but I ended up becoming a police but we police emt and firefighters all work together and are a big family I back you up,
I absolutely love your videos! I am EMT student in a hybrid program (because of Covid) and I am about to test for my psychomotor skills and final very soon. I love seeing the brother and sisterhood of your station and how passionate you all are! I cannot wait to join the EMS family to help others in their time of need! Thank you for sharing, keep it up! Be safe! PS: the life flight entrance landing was pure awesome!!
Good job! Much love and blessings to you, your team and everyone you worked with. There are many heroes in this fight regardless of a pandemic or not. God bless you all. 🙏🏾😇🥰🤗❤
Question. How the heck do you guys carry the heavy stair chairs? It was like thors hammer. Wow I thought I was the only thin/tiny EMT. Im glad im not the only one
I’m currently saving money to be an emt but I ride wit me local ems in my town, just to experience it! Can’t wait to start my classes :). Covid has been still kicking our butt sadly tho:(, almost everyday with a Covid patient.
IMO public service providers such as EMT, Fire fighters doesn't get enough credit, risking your own lives to save others lives, and not just that the long hours, away from your family members, friends, etc.
I wanted to either be EMS or a Police officer but because I'm hearing impaired I was told I would never qualify. It was such a sad thing to be told. I've since then gone ahead and graduated with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and General Psychology lol Now I just gotta find a job actually using these.
Not freaking funny. These brave men and women see and hear, deal with things that... Never mind!!! Just cop a clue before you open your mouth next time, ok? I have some Grey duct tape if you need help or a reminder. Note my name. No apologies made.
Out of curiosity, where is this? I worked EMS in New York City for 20 years. Units have to go to their CSL's (Cross Street Location) to wait for jobs. Nine times out of ten, you never make it to your CSL. I did 12-hour shifts in the NYC 911 system, where we did 12-14 jobs per shift.
When I was living in the bay area , They transferred me to Oakland Hospital,I suffered with really bad bloody nose is since I was little I have a super sensitive nose when I used to hit it or even poke my nose LOL are used to bleed really bad and one time my nose started bleeding and kept bleeding for about one hour so my mom got super scared and called the hospital and they sent a helicopter over to pick us up it was such an experience super cool
@@noemiruiz9387 I still suffer with a vein in my nose that is super sensitive I guess when I was little I was picking my nose in it cause it to bleed but still from this day in the summertime my nose bleeds a lot but what they do is they burn the vein with this thing that looks like a wic it stings but my nose Doesn’t bother me for another two years but I do that often
Wow I am a cardiologist medical assistant 14 years now. In 2 weeks I start my emt classes. And I am sooo nervous even after being in the medical field so long.. watching your video gave me some hope of positive good things, and so thank you. Crazy for me 43 years old and iam going back to school.. Love your videos keep them coming.
Great video girl!!! I don’t speak Spanish, but was the dish you made chocolate covered bananas?? It looked so delish!!!! You’ve got to do a COOK WITH ME video!!!!☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
Hey first time watching your vlog really loved it I’m an EMS provider from Jamaica 🇯🇲 works with the Jamaica Fire brigade I did subscribe looking forward to more videos 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
My daughter is only 4 we live cross street from a hospital she love to watch the helicopter land and go back up she says she want to be one of the people that fly the helicopter to the hospitals when she grows up
That was me at a year and a half old. Now I’m 22 and just finished paramedic school. Soon I will be calling for and loading patients onto that very helicopter. She will do big things in time✨✨
Another job profession in the medical field that is way underpaid for what they do. at least in California pay rate is way low. CNA's and MET's deserved more.
Hi Debbie! I'm from Cebu, Philippines! I am an aspiring individual who wants to be EMS provider. However we don't have EMT class here in Cebu. Basically our field just fall on the Emergency Medical Responder scope. much love and respect to you all! Stay safe! ♥️🤙
Paramedic has advanced life support training (you can look ALS vs BLS) , and we don’t have them frequently really, once a month but if you chose to cover others shifts, it might be more
This guy I work with, who was working in EMS for about 13 years, told me that the Basic EMTs are the grunts of EMS. Basically, most of them work for a private ambulance company, transporting patients from their homes to the hospital, nursing homes to the hospital, etc; Then, even if they are hired in with 911 providers, the basics are the ones driving the ambulance and then cleaning out the back afterwards. How true is this for a Basic level EMT? This is all if you are not a Firefighter.
I'm always amazed at US EMS crews working 24hr. shifts. Here in Australia, we only do 12-hour shifts. Our fatigue management requires us to have a 10-hour break between shifts. Mind you our 12-hour shifts are full on, with meal extra time on just about every shift (paid double time until a meal break is finished). When I worked in a rural area, we worked 8- or 10-hour dayshifts and took an ambulance home for on call.
FFP2 masks everywhere, but the coffe cup is in the rig, on the table. Mask off, a sip from the coffe, mask back. Come on! (I think masks are important, but when we do this, there is no reason to wear them. Sad.)
Amazing video indeed. Im thinking about volunteering at Silver Hill Volunteer Station (MD). Also sending my condolences for Life Member Kenneth lacayo 🙏🏿🙏🏿
In 2001 I graduatedEMT school because I went to work as a police officer in a public service department which house both the police department and fire departments the cool thing was that after three years of service you could transfer to the fire department side if you had the proper credentials or if you were on the fireside you could graduate to the police department side if you were POST certified. AND now the plot twist. In 2009, I was involved in a near-fatal car accident and was transported by ground ambulance to a small non-trauma hospital I had sustained a oblique C2 fracture, 22 broken bones, bilateral calcaneus fractures, a fractured sternum, a fractured hip and was bleeding internally, having been an EMT I knew that I was in a bad place but that's about the last that I remember, when I got to the small town hospital I was induced into a coma and on a ventilator and transported to a level 1 trauma center 51 nautical miles away. After about six months of rehab I wanted to thank the air ambulance crew that was from Lifenet, which was owned by Rocky Mountain holdings in Colorado at the time. I called to inquire about the medics who transported me to the level 1 trauma center and I was shocked to find out that two out of the three crew members & patient were killed several months earlier when they diverted around bad weather and ended up crashing one mile from the airport. I just want to thank all the EMTs, paramedics, aircrews, pilots, nurses and aircraft maintainers because these are the people who risk their life to save yours and they very rarely get any notoriety or thanks, I'm sure if you ask them they would say they don't expect it, but really they deserve it because they are risking their life to save yours and they do it without question, every day and every night. It's now 2022 and I am still disabled from my accident and living on disability and have a very unexciting life ,but I'm glad to be alive and I'm thankful for those who took the risk and saved me, and got me the help that I needed Thank you,!!!
