I love it! This is great inspiration for me. I have a year old leopard and just moved to the Orlando area, so once we have our own house I plan on setting up something like this! :)
You should grow his vegs in back yard too so he can eat when he wants. Or maybe grow it raised flower bed for him. Just a thought. Your set up is awesome he a is lucky turtle.
Rain or being sprayed with water can actually make leopard tortoises sick.. as long as they have a water dish and shadey places to cool off they should be fine. They only need to be soaked one or twice a week as a baby. When they are adults they don't need that. Just thought I'd let you know so your little dude doesn't get sick
@@chvckkkkkkkit’s common for some leopard tortoises to get pyramiding, even in the wild. But in captivity we just give them too much pyramiding, just a tiny bit is fine as long it not so much. If it is too much then that effects their spine obviously.
Hi , we're getting a tortoise tomorrow bcuz i can't resist turtles & tank is sooo cute 😍 can't wait to get mines . Love your vids and mostly i 💕 tank 😜
Make him a couple of wet hides to prevent further pyramiding. The Leopard tortoises live in the grassland. Their camo proofs that. I believe he is constantly stressed without tall plants. Look at him, he is trying to hide behind the little ferns. You should plant your yard more different plants.
she knows how to take care of her tortoise. leopard tortoises usually have a little natural pyramiding if the tall plants scared him we wouldn’t go over there but he does. i have many tortoises and the thing that annoys me the most is that people like you think u know how to take care of HER tortoise she knows what’s best.
@@76597659y they need it badly as baby's which is where most pyramiding comes from but as they approach adulthood they do not need nearly as much because their shell is mostly full developed
I’ve had a leopard tortoise for 2 years and wanted to know what the pool of water was made of because I have just started putting him outside (used to live inside) and I’m about to build a cage very similar to yours. Also what soil and plants were in there because I wanna make sure it’s healthy for my tortoise
I cant use tap water where i live evin tho we used to drink the tap water here my plants dont like it so we stoped drinking it and start using rainwater for all the animals and plants but rain water have no calcium but allso no bleech or chlorine in it so rain water is a hit and a must here
I have a big question so I have a baby turtle is like 2 weeks old and it has the same exact of design on his shell but I though it was a gofer turtle plz help lol
Goldfish can actually live up to 15 years. The longest living goldfish on record lived to age 40 or something. It's false information that they do not live much and unfortunately in my country the pet store owners give false information to the people that buy the fish so it will die and the people come buy another.
First rule before adopting a reptile: Do your research first. Don't get one and then figure out what you have to do. Find people who have the kind of reptile you want and ask questions. Research takes time, so don't rush it. There are too many adult reptiles put up for adoption because people weren't educated beforehand.
It would need a place to cool down. Anything over 100 may be too warm. The problem with having a specific place for them to cool off or warm up is them not utilizing the prepared area. My region gets both too hot and too cold at times. When it’s cold I have to literally put him in the shed with a heat lamp, he never seeks it out, even if it were freezing outside. He’s better at finding a cool spot but during heat waves I make sure to cool him down or even bring him in. In nature they are in a climate where they don’t have to work hard at getting out of extreme weather. Leopards don’t hibernate or dig unless (unless laying eggs) so the surface temp is it. You can have a place with a lot of shade and a good amount of humidity available (large moist shrubs etc). Just google many sources because there is a lot of bad info out there
