America has a new and growing class of homeless. In cities across the country, rents are spiking, while wages lag behind. Now long-time residents are being suddenly priced out of their homes and pushed out onto the street. Many end up struggling to survive in the shadows, sleeping in their cars, hidden from plain view and defying the conventional stereotypes of homelessness. I was homeless for years. I have an iq of 147. I’m only saying that to say it could happen to anybody. I don’t drink and only smoke marijuana. I was not an addict. My mom split when I was 2. My dad was pretty much checked out. Suddenly I was 18 and I had no idea what to do. I went to work at the most horrible places and when I couldn’t handle the abuse I’d get mad and then I’d get fired. It was a vicious cycle for years. It was like I was in a hole and everyone is yelling at me to climb out, but when I try to climb out they start shoveling dirt in...

And then you have the domino effect of price increases either to purchase real estate, or to rent. Alexander Hamilton, one of our Founding Fathers, probably had it right in opposing private banking institutions. Instead he wanted a National Bank of the United States. America is a blight to humanity. The economic system, the media, the discriminatory laws all favor the rich vs the poor. We give more welfare to the rich than the poor (and I include military welfare in that too). Americans are also more vitriolic, more hateful, more hostile towards the poor and their conditions, despite the whole system keeping them down.

Instead of sending “humanitarian aid” to Venezuela. We should’ve sent that Aid to the homeless but the Homeless are not in the interest of the U.S. The Venezuelans did not even want that AID.

Because the U.S want the people of Venezuela to believe that the new president America recognizes is a hero fighting for the people but the truth is American officials want him in power because once in power he will sign a deal to give oil and gold. He's a sellout. That's why Maduro is fighting to keep the U.S out. But again it's for the money that's why there's no help for homeless people in American it's not profitable.

I know it’s hard and scary to be homeless. I was homeless for two years living on the beach in Clearwater Florida. I have a 800$ car that got me to Alpharetta ga until it broke down. Rent and finding a job was so much easier in a place that didn’t have as many people(go figure). It’s scary to move but L.A. sounds like it might have too many people. Move somewhere else!!! I know I’m a horrible person.

I live in San Bernardino County and its cheap here. We have less people and its cheap. LA is small and has 10 million people. San Bernardino is the largest county in USA and we only have 2 million people here.

Your full rent will be $ 400 a month with all utilities included, full run of the house. I'll give you 1 year to save up enough to get your own place as long as you keep an uninterrupted job somewhere, pay YOUR RENT on time, and buy your own food, act moral, and pull your own weight. I live within 100 yards of the public transit bus stop. Come on. Life is gooooooodddd.😎 AS A SIDE NOTE!!!! The last 4 bums, in the last 2 years...got mad when I kicked them off the couch and out the door after a couple of months of freeloading and being LIARS.🤓 BROKE....MY...HEART.😎 (not) The room and job are ready when you are... but be FULLY AWARE... Why are people choosing to have children in one of the most expensive cities in US if they don’t have proper savings, secured housing they own and a proper prenup? How about preventative birth control, sex Ed and personal finance and econ education? This is a really sad state of affairs but there are other options in life than to have a child you can’t afford in one of the most expensive cities in the country. Think before you do something that costs 1M. A child costs close to 1M. Don’t have one if you don’t have a plan. So dumb.

1500? I have friends paying 600 a month to just rent a room in other people’s houses. Some of the new immigrants I know sleep in the bathroom because the rent for the small bathroom is five dollars a day. There always a way if you know how to manage your money. I think schools need to be teaching how to manage your finances. The first women bought a BMW X5 when she could just bought a Toyota Corolla while she still have her job. Think about it, she could have saved more than $30,000 which can help her get through the tough times.

10:43 since 2001 over 20k rent controlled units have been taken off the market? Do you think that rent control might be the problem? Have you ever taken Econ 101? Do you know what a deadweight loss is? It is when an artificial price ceiling reduces supply in a free market. When you say that the situation will be better with more artificial price ceiling enacted you are ignoring one of the most elementary lessons in economics.

Yes, she should have been more prepared. But that car has nothing to do with her current situation. That car no matter the price. Was made in 2006. That's 13 years ago! Not only that, but she still currently has it and drives it. Getting her moneys worth to me. It was bought at a time when she could afford it and did. It was probably paid off for years. What happened to put her in this situation has happened recently. People just always want to diagnose somebody. Her car isn't the issue here at all.

Let’s calculate this. Nice BMW living in LA. Her daughter doesn’t need a phone. The reason they’re homeless is because the mother makes very bad decisions. She should have bought a car that’s cheap and live in a cheap town.
