Thank you for sharing your day! I graduate from my PMHNP program in 10 months (if my next clinical rotation doesn’t cancel from the stay-at-home orders). One day I’ll own my practice just like you! :)
How has that adjustment been ? Going from working nursing 12 hour shifts to like a Monday - Friday office hours schedule as an NP? Does it get tiresome seeing 14 patients per day?
If I had to take a guess, I would think that in-person one can really pick up on a person's energy/vibe which may add to a more personal feel. Have your established patients mentioned how they feel about tele/video psych? Do you think you would ever incorporate tele/video appts to your private practice as an option for your patients?
thank you for sharing so much good information about your day in the life. I'm a psych NP student and I find your information helps guide me a lot. Stay safe!
I’m graduating nursing school soon and wanted to know what was your opinion on new nurses applying to NP school. My goal has always been to become a psych NP from the beginning and I have already worked as a tech at a psych facility. I would also like to know if you shadowed Psych NPs before you applied to grad school and how did you get in contact with them. My facility at the moment only has MD physicians and I’d like to shadow an NP to see how they practice.
