ABOUT THE SONG
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my second commissioned composition for a video game, and I am very happy that I was able to write another song for the Dragon Nest world of Lagendia! Cherry Credits approached me earlier this year to write a song for the city of Saint Haven, and they asked that I make it from the point of view of the Elves - specifically Grand Archer Ithilien - and tell the story of the Black Dragon Raid 50 years prior to the current storyline. Here is the result!
I finished it very early this year, and it's been waiting in the wings to release. Due to the amount of work I had at the time, coupled with close due dates, this is one of the projects that contributed to my voice issues this Summer! This is the last thing I recorded before having to rest my voice these last few months.
I visited the Cherry Credits forum and read that many players feel this song does not suit Saint Haven very well ^w^; I think a more grand symphonic work was expected by many. I wanted to apologize to any players that were disappointed by the new BGM ^w^; A million thanks though to the players that have reached out specifically to tell me how much they love the new Saint Haven song! :)
NOTES ON THE VIDEO

This video isn't quite as 'animated' as my last one - I wanted to create a more storybook feel. I enjoyed doing some Dragon Nest fan art in the process, he he! I had to dig up some references for archer poses, as I had no idea quite how to draw that correctly. Thankfully deviantart has some great photography sources. I have listed them below and in the video's credits.
Ending theme! For those who have been following me really closely, you might know I'm finishing up a CD of instrumental Celtic/Medieval pieces. I couldn't sing for those months, I had to have some sort of recording project to work on, and I think it's turning out well! I used a tiny clip of one at the end of the video xD I'm working on the last tracks for that album now, and will probably have some sort of preview out soon :) Let me know if this is something you're interested in!

Song of the Goddess: Eternal Path (Calderock BGM) is still, hands down, the best for me, among all other BGMs in any other game, but this is a pretty close second. I also don't get why most players think it doesn't suit Saint Haven; I for one think the majestic yet somewhat melancholic feel to the song is appropriate, but that's just me. On a side note, I miss the glory days of DN SEA, particularly the 40-60 cap, where it's not very P2W-ish and PvP was almost, if not as popular as PvE. Ah well. Argenta still hot tho LOL

2022 already and still by far the most nostalgic song i have heard in DN aside from the theme song in Calderock Village. Memories on my younger days will never be forgotten. I am a working man with a family now and this game was a part of my life back then.

In my opinion this song is not just for Saint Haven.. with the beautiful and moving composition and storytelling it deserves to be like a national anthem for the whole Lagendia.. not just he city; this song is too meaningful for a single city. When the lyrics went to "Geraint he Gold, Argenta the Silver.. it's goosebumps.

How I miss the Dragon Nest so much 😢 This nostalgic BGMs everytime you enter towns, hanging on every map with friends, having a date with another player under the tree, airships or castles, raids, dungeons, the thrill of surprises and especially the friendships Ive made through the years of playing. "Gerraint the gold, Argenta the Silver. Cloaked from our sights, yet saviors to all" this line is always got me so hard. i remember watching the scene when Gerraint and Argenta sacrifice to seal the Black Dragon. and then when Red Dragon Nest (i think it's cap 80), i see the tsundere Argenta sacrifice her life to help my character T_T

Last time I've played DN was like 8 years ago and I'm a grown-up working in a different place now. I didn't have any irl friends who played DN from where I'm from back then and today, out of nowhere God just sent me a colleague who was like, asking me if I've ever heard or played this one game called 'Dragon Nest' out of the blue since he knows I do play some games and ong I'm tellin ya the goosebumps hits me fking hardddd like all those memories I thought I've forgotten literally just flashed through my eyes in a split second but it felt like a whole damn journey back to the past. Man istg I felt like crying when he reminds me of this song too and now here I am, listening to this for hoursss again like I'm actually living in the past. What a great memory and I wish I could just stop the time where we were just having fun in the game with some online friends we've never met but felt so closed with

Instance based RPG. Think MMO Action RPG that has all of the real gameplay in instances/dungeons. Dunno what Dragon's Nest is like now, but that's how it was when I played it. I didn't play it long, but I played it more than I did Vindictus, a game of the same genre. Granted that was partially due to the hide and seek style pvp mode you could play on DN where your gear (and class for that matter) didn't matter.

Secondly, yesterday i had terrible headache, but something inside told me "go listen to katethegreat", so i did it and guess what, two songs, i needed two songs and my headache was gone :). Thats how Your beautiful voice works on me and i'm sure not only on me :D. Unfortunately, Your CD is not available in my country so i can enjoy Your music only through RU-vid, but i hope some day i will see Your cd on shelf in the store and i will buy it immediately, because artists like You deserve all world money. This song is so elven. It’s rallying troops for battle, yet its an entire seven minutes long. Then at the end it says “Pick up your bows, there’s no time for words”, as if they haven’t already been singing for ages. I guess if your lifespan is ten times as long (according to D&D), seven minutes would seem like only forty-two seconds.

It's like the NPC Grand Master Archer Ithilen is the one who really sings this song through out the Saint Haven to tell the story about the Black Dragon Raid 50 years ago together with the 7 Heroes.

This is so epic and beautiful, it radiates Tolkien vibes, I don't know the game but how could anyone think this wasn't fitting? It is so clearly the tale of history fading into legend and myth through bardic song and story.

right now, i'm the only one who still play dragon nest in our guild. all of my friends had moved to another game together. it feels so sad. i want to quit playing it too, since it gave me less fun without them. but whenever i think about it. your songs suddenly played in my head. it brings me to all the memories and pleasures i have spent in the game with my friends. it brings me to the first time i enter calderock, it brings me to the first time i enchant my weapon, it brings me to the time i realize that we are so wrong in gearing equipments for the first time,, it brings me to the time about help and protecting each other, about fear when facing dragons, about sword, about arrow, about elf, black smith, irine's butt, ugly minotaur, etc. i could only smile :) thank you for making a great songs that keeps me to play dragon nest, the only game i have played until now. even i don't play it so often anymore. your songs gave soul the game.

Tribute to DN especially my fellow guild members and all of Greenwood server residence, thank you for all the memories 😭 It is indeed an Amazing 7 years. I always come back to this song :) This was one of the reasons i preferred to stay in saint haven, when the song started i wouldnt join any raids so that the song wouldnt stop. this is truly a masterpiece :)

This song always brings to my mind, J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Silmarillion" - the "Dagor Dagorath" or the last battle in the First Age of Middle Earth. This was when Melkor (Morgoth his other name) and his servants including Sauron (who is figured in the 3rd Age with Bilbo and Frodo in the time of the rings), fought to control middle earth. Melkor unleashed the dragons including the greatest of them, Ancalagon, The Black. I know this is not about that and it doesn't fit exactly but it still brings a lump to my throat. If they ever made a movie of Silmarillion, this is the type of song that would definitely work.

I kept suggesting this song and the calderock song to be brought back again in DN😭, since ED took charge, they changed the songs at 95 cap. You know the piece is memorable if you at some point, after years since the last you've heard it, it's melody suddenly pops in you're head and after scouring your favorites in YT, finding it, and listening to it's greatness again, giving you chills.
