A lot of money, time and hard work was spent on this paint job. Letting it sit sure made sense at the time but now we will find out. Also a few other experiments were conducted 🤔

Maybe also metal detecting, i bet a lot of stuff gets lost falling overboard, having a metaldetector can find you a lot. you could help people out, finding their wedding ring, or freedive at an anchorage for lost treasure.

Hey Joel, great to see your great infectious personality again. Really enjoying the videos again! Keep it up! Also our boats name is Lagom which is Swedish meaning the right amount/balance (in life).. it’s kind of a way to live thing. Last of all, my wife and I are American (not Swedish). Ha Ha

I think the bottom paint held up pretty well for being that long. good job getting all that crap off! Speaking from experience, the Sea Hawk paint is good stuff. Also the Prop Glide...like magic! Comment saying hempel is better is not what i've heard. also, i'm not sure about the advice of getting below where you are scraping. again, that's not my experience. Anyway, good to see you underwater again!

Wow 12 month is pretty hectic down there on the hull where it gets light at the growth line,shaft and prop did well considering,tip I learned was to put ear plugs in when diving the hull,learned that after the first and last ear infection from having sea life in the ears.Hope you had a great Christmas buddy,safe sailing.

Next time you scrape the bottom position yourself below where you scrape. All the bugs head for the surface when you scrape and they end up in your hair, suit, BC etc. if you are below the scraping you come out much much cleaner 😀

Next time you dry dock add one large can of black pepper to each gallon of bottom paint. You have to roll it on but cheap paint will out last the high price one. Don't use red pepper it must be black.

@wadeprice67
@wadeprice67 8 месяцев назад
@@Bumsonaboat yes black pepper red will dissolve. Like in your body black pepper don't digest your boat will smell like a big French fry before you launch it but it helps . I've seen friends and family in shrimping use high dollar paint sometimes as little as two months start getting small barnacles. I would use cheaper paint and go two years between haulouts and no barnacles but here off Louisiana the water is not as salty as where your at but regardless it should help and cost very little.

@highnotesailing5843
@highnotesailing5843 8 месяцев назад
I think you have gone beyond the point of seeing a difference. Ablative paints also work with motion causing new paint to come to surface. Sitting still is defeating that a bit. Some cheap paints do well in comparison testing. West marine CPP plus does well and is much cheaper than most. If there is residue of the barnacles stuck to the hull, when you haul you can use an acid product like on-off to lessen them so they scrape off easily.

I'm not a huge pan of my alcohol stove fuel is expensive especially compared to propane. I can understand the safety part too but 25$ in propane last us atleast 4 months and alcohol is around 20$ for 2 weeks. Keep up the great work bud!!!!

Well clean boats hull for a living in Florida. First I've seen worse and cleaned worse. However if you are going to be pulled out and put your boat on the hard and then buy more paint. With the time and money spend. It would've been cheaper to get it cleaned once a month IMO.
