I was today years old when I learned what the 8888 is for, and I've been watching his channel for a few months now. In fact, Eric is one of the "guntubers" who praised SDI enough to convince me to enroll. Now I'm in Week 2 and loving it! Little did I realize that SDI staff actually knew Eric personally; that solidifies my choice with this college!
I've been considering getting into either gunsmithing or mechanical work. Been a long haul trucker for the last 8 years now, and been considering some alternatives. Back when I was in school, shop classes were amongst my favorite. Trucking is nice and all, but there are far too many regulations strung through it anymore. Joining the military is/was another option, but considering how 'woke' the government and military leadership has become.. that's a tough decision.
Not very important. An entry level Smith should start out by learning basic trouble shooting of various firearms. Ballistics wouldn't come into play unless you are getting into building custom precision rifles.
Extremely, its like understanding how gas works in a car. You need to understand how ammunition works and performs to be able to be a competent gunsmith.
