Never heard of it but when I visited in early 2020, I said to myself to go to somewhere less popular and I fell in love w Hakone! Really enjoyed the hot springs! 🥰
I’m quarantining with my 4 year old in a separate room (first time with covid), my wife is bringing us soups and water, bless her. But I gotta say, while I enjoy JBF a lot, watching Shizuka eat bomb Japanese food is not helping my cause. 😂
@@JapanbyFood I meant I’m quarantine in my house in the US. Can’t go back to Japan until my youngest reaches the age of 5 or 6. Though it’s a longtime from now, I’m really excited for the day.
This is nearly epic! The restaurant after the pirate ship, the lighting and angles are incredible! The food, wow! Also, the last place of stay! This is a place to grub into "history"! The Japanese people are so real as living people. Arigato so much!
I'm so happy you guys are now uploading in 4k. The viewing experience is so much more enhanced and your videos are shot beautifully, which can now be appreciated in all its UHD glory 🤗
I've never heard of this place before but seems like a great country side too 😆✨, I really love the restaurant's it's so like a typical Japanese thing. I love all the dishes 🤤❤️. Shizuka-san looks amazing and wonderful today too ☺️💕, always love her positive energy. Everyone be safe and take care! Have a wonderful day ahead 💖, God bless 🙏❤️
When I went to Japan I went on a tour and they took us to Gotemba, then Hakone. Got to go on the skycars and then on the pirate ship on Lake Ashi - was a great experience!!! Watching Shizuka in this clip, I want to to back!!!!😊😊😊😊
I spent my birthday in Hakone last month during my vacation and it was a great experience. You definately had better weather because when we were on the ropeway up to Owakudani, there was a solid wall of fog that you couldn't see through. Owakudani was also covered in fog but it lifted several times for a few minutes so people could take pics.
Wonderful travel video of Hakone! Loved it! Putting this on my list of places to visit on my return trip back to Japan. Mahalo Shizuka for bringing us here! 😀
Amazake Chaya❣️❣️ Would love to know some of the tricks of their method to make the Amazake .... As for とろろ 🤢😮 One of the few typical Japanese foods/ingredients I really cannot handle, especially when mixed with raw egg for breakfast.
@@JapanbyFood I’ll eat the nagaimo cut up and cooked in things...as for 『ちろろ』just no. Right up there with “Tsubuzashi”(?) not sure how to say it in 日本語 but eating a live whole Whelk (and big so probably from Hokkaido)...
I wanted to go there for an overnight but could not squeeze it in. How was the beer?? Yummy egg. Amazing views. YA Pirate Ship. Yummy from the restaurant. Excellent all around
Hello! I'll be heading from Odawara to Gora followed by rope way to Togendai. Am I allowed to carry one bagpack and a hand held duffle bag on this route? ( I don't want to ship them or use a locker) My plan is to finish the cruise around Lake Ashi and head to Mt.Fuji station where I have my hostel booked for the night. Wondering if any luggage restrictions? And will time be sufficient to travel ? Please share your opinion. Many thanks 😊
The wide open decks are probably great, but seing those massive super-tacky pirate ships on Lake Ashi hurts my eyes 🙇♂ "...pretty much everything there is to see in Hakone..." I would have added the Hakone Open Air Art Museum to that, but that's me, I'm artsy... Amazake Chaya did look quite good 🙏
1st.. ha ha. I see Shizuka, I click. The black egg I was expecting to be similar to Chinese century egg, but I guess it is boiled and isn't preserved. Happy Holidays.
The whole cable car-volcano-pirate ship circuit is touristy as heck, but you kind of have to do it, and the views are incredible on a clear day. Don't miss the open air sculpture museum, it's fantastic! I wanted to try the black eggs but I was by myself and they only sell them in a 5 pack. What am I supposed to do, just down 5 hard boiled eggs?
That "I'm flying Jack..." moment with your producer was priceless ! your Jack Sparrow impersonation was a nice touch as well. Brilliant video Shizu-chan.
I love rocks , mountains and volcanoes so combine that with the amazing looking katsu curry you got and that would have to be my favorite spot of the video
Great video of Hakone, I have been there in Japan, such a wonderful beautiful place. Had the black egg, cruise on the Pirate Ship & had lunch at the restaurant with my family. Brings back wonderful memories of Japan.
Really liked your collaboration with Sonny, so I came to check out your channel! Shizuka brings so much cheer and energy to the journey that it's a blast to watch. I am looking forward to the future videos 😁👍
Loved spending time at the onsens there! We did get to visit Amazake Chaya by bus, so if anyone is wondering about the commute route. I would assume that line is still running.
Very funny episode it's almost like Japan by Food meets One Piece! Shizuka is the acting Capitan because Luffy ate too many black eggs and has tummy aches... Anyway fantasies aside I really would like to taste the amazake it looks delicious and it's around for already 400 years, maybe I am missing something... Thank you for activating my creative flow 😄😁😉😉😆🦜⚔☠🏴☠
You can get there from different stations, we recommend taking the cable car from Sounzan station (10mins) and then taking the cable car from Owakudani to Togendai station (10mins), from Togendai you can take the boat to Hakone shrine:)
Ever since I watched Sonny's (Sunny's?) episode of BEFRS with Shizuka where he mocks her saying "ooOoo", I have become hyper-aware of it and notice every time she says it 😆
Thank you so much for providing the map marker! It's really hard to find these restaurants by looking up their names and we plan to go to Japan next year so I really love your videos!
wow, it's so beautiful there, I have heard of Hakone but didn't know what it was about, would love to visit all those places, especially the spot at the end, love that traditional Edo style feel
