Day Trip to Miyajima! Mount Misen and Itsukushima Shrine | Japan Jan 2020 | thisNatasha | Hiroshima

We're taking a day trip from Hiroshima today to visit Miyajima! We travel from Hiroshima Station to Miyajimaguchi Station then take the JR ferry to the island. We visit the shopping street, then taken the ropeway (cable car) up the mountain to the observation deck. After taking the ropeway down, we visit the beautiful Itsukushima Shrine which floats over the water, the tide was out so we got to walk around the gate and view the shrine at night! It must be SO beautiful to see that shrine and the Torii gate when it's completely 'on' the water. I loved it all lit up at night though and that moon... wow! It could've only been more impressive in real life, I can imagine.

Many years back I climbed to the very top without using the rope way. Too old now to do that but will be there again in about 3 weeks.

So crazy the see the world precorona. I remember that sign (if run a little) 😂. We were there in 2014. A deer tried to eat our curry pan.

Ha that sounds about right! They are funny. Yeah I saw a video of Shanghai Disney today and the social distancing measures. I wonder how these kinds of experiences will change when they open up again...

Absolutely amazing vlog! The hike looked very rewarding! It is really nice to see an in depth vlog in Miyajima, especially about the hike on Mt Misen...that sign was hilarious! The views from the ropeway and mountain was just...😍 (And so was the shrine!) I really love how you capture nature and journeys in your vlogs. Hope this comment finds you well!

The climb up to the top of Mount Misen is really nice, but of course you need to be healthy to do it, cause it's quite long and steep at times. The deer are nice and peaceful but if they spot a piece of paper in your pockets, they'll come and snatch it away to eat it... true story. I haven't been to Matsuyama, so looking forward to the next episode!

I was there in 2008. It was beautiful. Did they have a sign saying no mobility scooters for the ferry? Would love to go back but my husband has mobility issues.
